Anonymous, 19 Sep 2019Actually, they will have more than 3000mah. Batteries have ... moreWhat you tell is true, but only half of the story. Capacity reduces by round about 20%. But internal resistance is another aging factor. Which is significant since battery will be limited also by a lower voltage threshold under load. Which is the reason why some older phones turn off while still showing 15% battery capacity.

sm4rt4ss, 19 Sep 2019The phone is awesome. But the problem with Sony is that it'... moreYeah thats the issue for Slovenia and Sony. I guess people here just dont like Sony anymore.. Also usually gets negative descriptions, not much of a sales for Sony at carriers in Slovenia. Slovenia os truly like Iphone and Samsung country, even Lg isnt popular anymore. But lets be fair. Sony x1 and x5 are really cool looking phones. I mean both reviews got 4,4 which isnt bad. I suppose people see more beneficial to pay 300 eur more for Iphone. Too bad really.

I am a loyal Sony user from 2006 to Xperia XZ1 Compact, but my common sense makes me stop using Sony phones.

Here c... moreActually, they will have more than 3000mah. Batteries have been designed to only degrade by 20% in the long run after a particular number of charge cycles. 20% of 4000mah and I think you'll find it to be 3200mah, dummy.
On the other hand with Sony...

huh? This is a close up shot.
If I put my Xperia this close it will show Macro icon.
If you point a camera with 50mm f2.0 to someone 3m away from you, background will be blurred.
Point the 52mm f2.0 from cellphone to someone 3m from you, nothing will happen.
All phone use computational tricks to blur background.
FF has 43,26 mm diagonal. Divide this for cellphone sensor size, the multiply for camera aperture to find equivalent on FF.
"Telephoto" of cellphones would need to be f0.2 to blur background without software.

Japanfan, 19 Sep 2019Another phone that is insanely expensive vs the competition... moreIf you care so much for photography that you care so much about the DxO rating, why don't you buy a real camera? It's much better than any phone with good DxO rating, and much cheaper.

The phone is awesome. But the problem with Sony is that it's no longer availible at the carriers in my country (Slovenia). Only retail. One carrier (A1) is selling old Xperia phones like the XA, XA1, XA2, XZ, XZ1, XZ2, Z5 Premium, XZ Premium and the XZ3 for change.
Sadly, I can't afford a phone that costs 800€, so I'm gonna probably buy the S10e for about 350€ from a carrier deal.

AnonD-816568, 19 Sep 2019Even though i don't use Sony phones anymore, i'm still sad ... moreWell, I was not a Sony fan, I'm still not one, but I enjoy the Xperia 1, coming from a huawei mate 10 pro, and after trying Nokia 9, P30pro and oppo reno 10x. Too many thing bothering me with Samsung to try them out to be honest, especially their image processing and UI.
Being a fan is just limiting consumers, nothing good siding for a Brand.

Exyvia, 19 Sep 2019ELI5: You got (2x2) 4 people arranged in a square, you need... moreThat only work with LCD technology because you need to turn filters.
Oled is different, oled is like just spot next to another. a lot of small spots of light need less power each to produce the same brightness than less and bigger spot.
Plus, look at my previous comment, monitor power drain is far more complex that just the panel drain. That's why some LCD 4k screen consume less than 2k, sometimes, and sometimes not and the gap is not that big.
Anyway, in fact, we don't really care, if the phone last as long as a FHD screen while it has a 4k screen, that's the only thing we need to know. Mine does 20% less than a mate 10 pro that has a 30% bigger battery. So no issue with the Xperia 1 so far. Especially comparing to some other $1500+ phone.
