Also I said before.
The main camera is also a Ultra wide camera according to your definition.

If some ad is indeed using actual smartphone camera, why bother to put the 'for illustrative purposes' watermark?

Oh and the S20 Ultra on its 100x Space Zoom ad (the one that people wave from air balloon)? Definitely a DSLR, edited & degraded quality. We know the actual x100 zoom quality on actual S20 Ultra are way more abysmal.

Isn't it kinda funny when ASUS made a very similar teaser to this back in 2017 for Zenfone 4 announcement, absolutely nobody found it misleading or problematic? And it suddenly became a problem for P30 Pro, I wonder why.

Shui8, 02 Apr 2020Its gonna be a long list to provide. If you love Samsung so... moreSpeaking frankly, Samsung cannont be blamed for these cases as the releases wasn't by Samsung officially. Because Samsung Hongkong or Samsung Brazil these aren't really run by them. But when the news got to the office, those were taken down. You might say These are Samsung's responsibily somehow. Yes some part of blame goes to them as well. But they can't really focuses on midrange all the time in all country. This didn't happen from their official page, neither did happen for their flagships. Also don't forget who did that ? Hong Kong ( basically a Chinese).
Just like I said earlier. You can't trust them.

But Huawei does those cheating from their main page. They also got caught doing it for their flagships.

If you love Samsung so much, u can start yourself on older Galaxy camera ad, which you yourself knows how its actual quality in real life. I dont mind if you dont trust me, but i know exactly what I've saw.

The got caught is A8, not A9 (eventhough all A9 camera ad got 'for illustrative purposes' watermark lol).

We need proof. Proof from a trustworthy source.
I'm not sure But I don't remember Samsung doing any pre release photo officially.
Same goes about others. Please share some real source just like Emeline shared about Huawei caught cheating.

AnonD-754814, 02 Apr 2020You are making serious accusation. Can you share any sourc... moreUse your logical thought. Almost most of the ads using DSLR. Its wrong, its real, its bussiness.

I dont want to pick any link when u can easily search for all of those ads on youtube. Just provide some example.

Iphone - do u believe selfie shots on billboard signboard (needs a lot of resolution) on highway taken by 7mp front cam?
                  - Its ad on adjustable DOF definitely DSLR quality lol.

Samsung - Admit for faking A9 shots. Thats when its got caught, imagine the one its not (I've seen plenty of them)

Sony - Pathethic promo on its lossless zoom & lowlight camera ad on a video (Z1), when i know on reality its not (know the actual limitation, even i bought the phone)

Nokia - Lumia 920? Caught using DSLR? Afterwards all its ad got 'for illustrative purposes' watermark, means still cheating but safe play using watermark.

Actually if youre seriously knows about photography, can easily spot between DSLR or smartphone cam quality. There are some real photos used of course, but most of the time its not. I think this issue getting far off from what these thread about. Gonna leave it here.

Shui8, 02 Apr 2020Did u even open the link? By definition it means a 35mm fil... moreYou lack sense of humor. I wasn't doing a war with you with the definition.
I was saying the camera isn't enough wide as the competitors.
I am not sure why do you keep giving me the definition.
Now about the main camera you said it's 27mm while pixel binning.
Can't the sensor shoot at full 50MP ?
I assume it can. Then this also is a ultrawide according to your definition.
I don't get it why are you making it complicated ?
I was simply saying as the P40 pro has much narrower field of view, can we really call it ultrawide ? My sentence was more on the hypothetical rather than a concrete definitaion.

As you are so much shouting about the definition. Let's say this,
Using degrees of view is much more easier than using the focal length as the focal length changes for sensor type . In mid 20th century when ultrawide angle lenses was introduced then the definition was to have more than 120 degree filed of view. Later the manufacturers brought it down to 90 degree view for totally business purpose.
I'm not complaining on this either.
I simply saying adding 18mm lens doesn't add much more in the frame.

[deleted post]And I wasnt either. The real question is can you & I call it as ultrawide, when its narrower than others? I simply explain its not about you can call it or not, because it is a must, as a basic knowledge in focal lenght. Get it?

[deleted post]I'm considering buying the Pro as I'm really curious about the camera system.

I'm worried about the potential screen issue if getting a device with an LG panel because other users affected by the Mate 20 Pro Gluegate reported that they didn't experience issues before 1-3 months after the purchase. At that time the 14 day return policy does not apply anymore so it would be more problematic if that happened with the P40 Pro as well.
