And the 18mm 'Cine' Lens using more traditional 3:2 sensor like DSLR does. Got that cinematic effect, especially for videos. And for professionals, it is spot on. I rarely saw professional photographer/videographer using the narrower lens that smartphone nowadays implementing. Back in the days, its just for vlogging people that travels a lot, like using a GoPro.

And the definiton about UltraWide angle, its just basic photography. - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra_wide_angle_lens

Emeline Shaw, 01 Apr 2020Thanks for explaning this. Do you know why Huawei made thei... moreWell previous Mate 20 & P30 using narrower 16mm FL.

Its starting Mate 30, they implement 3:2 sensor with 18mm FL, dedicated for more dramatic cinema effect in videography, hence its called 'Cine' Lens.

Nick Tagataka, 02 Apr 2020To capture even wider area than the main camera? They didn't really go that wide. Did they ?
Anyway the question was for the other guy. He was giving definition of UWA camera while I was talking about the narrower view of Huawei P40 series wide angle camera.

AnonD-754814, 02 Apr 2020It happened before doesn't mean it'll happen again. It means that this will happen in the exact same way as with Gluegate on the Mate 20 Pro.

P40 Pro phones with LG panels will again suffer massive screen light bleeding and green tints. I don't think LG has learned anything since last time - they are lazy and lacking quality control.

I just wrote their UK division and asked them about this.

I will also contact all the great Youtube reviewers and ask them to investigate this issue so potential buyers can be warned. Huawei should not get away with cheating people once again.

Huawei has just been caught again - they are using LG panels for the P40 Pro meaning there will be problems with screen light bleeding:

                  Potential buyers be aware.

Like all flagship P Series the camera keeps getting better and better. I watched 7680 fps slow motion video on presentation and the video looks awesome.

In that case why did they even bother to include an ultrawide camera as the regular lens is 23mm ( ultrawide, according to your definition).

Please stop calling fixed focal length lenses Zoom lenses. The camera on this phone is a 10X Telephoto lens. The zooming on this and all other phones is produced digitally and not optically. Though, changing cameras depending on "zooming" in on the screen is sort of a hybrid optical zoom.

A Zoom lens is one that changes position of lenses to optically change the focal length. We may get a phone someday that has an actual Zoom lens (I hope).
