All the cons listed are just superficial cons. They cant be deciding factor. Battery life is what every other flagship is displaying with latest Snapdragon, many others has even worse selfie camera, shutter speed..meh are this deciding factors whether to buy a phone or not? No they are not. Most important is price per performance. If u pay 600 EUR for sn 778 it is not okay, if u pay 1800 for Sn888 is also not okay.

Anonymous, 04 Dec 2021I'm not sure if this is worth $1,800.100% agree! Pureview photos look so natural, like they are was taken by DSLR camera, and not a smartphone.
Xperia Pro-I has bigger sensor than on old 808 Pureview, but photos are looking like smartphone level cameras, but not like from professional cameras
2012 year, Nokia showed revolution!
2021 year. Sony shows cameraphone with huge sensor, but without revolution

Nick Tegrataker, 04 Dec 2021I definitely do agree with you that grass rendition is more... more"but in low light Xperia darkens shadows way too much and fine colour details are rather poorly separated, having me prefer Vivo's grass rendition half the time."
I can agree with you here, the Xperia does darken the shadows too much.
"Well, this sums up exactly why I believe this phone would've been better off having 18-19mm equivalent UWA lens covering the entire sensor like Aquos R6 does. If it was for video recording then extra pixels to wiggle the frame around could come in handy."
This is definitely better than what they have now, but I guess it would be too wide for photos? I dunno. Isn't the lens made from glass? That might be a reason why they didn't have a 19mm

Anonymous, 04 Dec 2021The Xperia is much better on foliage and grass than the Viv... moreThe samples from both phones were taken in completely different weather conditions and seasons, hence completely different grass colours, and on top of that shots from X70 Pro+ are highly saturated due to AI mode (X70 Pro+ has Zeiss Colour toggle in auto which will gear the saturation and contrast settings towards the more natural side).
We simply don't know how well (or poorly) X70 Pro+ would perform in terms of colour reproduction or details in the same winter overcast scenes.

Nick Tegrataker, 04 Dec 2021I definitely do agree with you that grass rendition is more... moreThe Xperia is much better on foliage and grass than the Vivo. The Vivo is not even in the league. Look at the grass in the snail shot, the Vivo once look like they were spray painted.

SuuperBaka, 03 Dec 2021I kinda agree with your analysis, but I feel like the grass... moreI definitely do agree with you that grass rendition is more preferable on Xperia, although for me only during the day. Vivo applies quite a bit of sharpening, more so than Xperia in general, but in low light Xperia darkens shadows way too much and fine colour details are rather poorly separated, having me prefer Vivo's grass rendition half the time.
"this is supposedly a more video/vlogging phone"
Well, this sums up exactly why I believe this phone would've been better off having 18-19mm equivalent UWA lens covering the entire sensor like Aquos R6 does. If it was for video recording then extra pixels to wiggle the frame around could come in handy.
