I also wish they used the entire sensor, but this is supposedly a more video/vlogging phone, even though it's called Pro-I. I just hope they can at least give you the ability to shoot multi-aspect ratios and use the extra unused sensor space for better EIS. The price is also pretty expensive, even for Sony, but I guess they aren't expecting to sell a lot of these.

Buy this and an external 70-100mm lens and you'll get amazing portraits

This phone is made for manual shot ( than other Sony smartphone), test it with auto is wrong.
Use a sensor 1 inch is a good decision because deleted the use of pixel binning.

I've had 5 Sony devices all break after 12 months or straight out of the box be defective, they have the lowest retention rate of any company.. wish I didn't have to learn the hard way. These phones are crap , they do maybe 2 things well and Sony just markets the shit out of those features. There's a reason they have lost so much market share and they deserve every day that share it shrinks a little more.

The Xperia's main camera has the best balance, the iPhone is second, and the Xiaomi is last.
I don't know why GSMArena boosted the shadows so much, it looks pretty bad, and it makes me question the reviewer's taste.
