That is the right way to go with Folds. Smaller than "normal" smartphones, a true compact flagship, and way bigger when you need it to be. Just like in "Dr. Who", it's bigger on the inside.

K, 16 Dec 2021This costs less, is more advanced, easier to hold etc. It will.The Fold3 is water resistant to 1.5 metres. It has Wacom pen support and it's got a UI refined over years to work both as a phone and tablet. I'm not sure what you mean by, "this is more advanced"?
It's not a bad phone. I would probably be a bit wary about the lack of water resistance. My biggest gripe with my old Z Flip from 2019 was that I always had to check the weather before going out. With my Flip3 I don't care. If it rains, it gets wet and I wipe it off.

I actually like it. It's as tall as an iPhone 13 mini but obviously pretty thick (nearly 17 mm) and heavy (275 g). But the drawbacks are...

I know Oppo. I lived right next to a mall in the Philippines and there was a store for it that replaced HTC. Oppo just doesn't cater to other markets and they price their phones pretty high. Like higher than Huawei.
This is very niche and it will probably still be expensive in a few years like the Find X from over 3 years ago. I do like the device and prefer this size to the Fold 3's taller and narrow outer display. It's not better than the Fold 3 but it's better for my usage.

I'm admittedly not a fan of Chinese OEMs because of their obsession with reverse engineering, but I got to say this looks like an absolute solid phone. Well thought out too.

I have a fold 3, so know at about now the more square the inner screen, the more you lose with video. Also I kind of like the long small design because it flips easier in my pocket than a wide design. The wrong speaker placement and opening by pressing some buttons is because of a 1.0 product.
But they will probably win with the camera's (Fold camera's are 2020 style).
Expect that it will be popular when the price is right.
When 1200USD, the fold3 will get a hard time.

why do we go out of our way to make sure the display is interrupted? do these brands actually think that people want their notches teardrops and punch holes? The phone folds. There are three different options for taking a selfie! To make sure you don’t miss a shot, or what? To make sure you are able to take a selfie from whatever angle... jeez!

They literally have the device with them and still somehow you believe your false assumptions to be true. Even if there are indeed thick borders surrounding that inner display that still does make it gapless one way or another so better get reading glasses first before rushing in comments
