@Ariktos - Yes , Realme has smartly given a more compact screen ( Whereas screen size increases incl. width with expensive model ) , so since this is premium Midrange Realme has stuck with 6.4inch , & vertically more height & low on width with Big Chin to tell you to purchase GT2 Pro.

But in other aspects its a Upgrade.

Regarding Camera , IMX 766 is an excellent flagship sensor but it gets limited range due to 12Mp. resolution , 50Mp. on Full , instead of 20Mp - 108Mp. or 16mp - 64mp setup , therefore detailing is on lower side & hence it has Good 2x Hybrid Digital zoom (50Mp. shots ) , instead of 3x Hybrid zoom on 8 Pro ( Its the 108Mp. image stacking with gave good 3x shots ).

Now i have realme 6 pro & x3 Superzoom with me & 6 pro 2x Optical 12mp. is superior to both , or 5x optical in x3SZ. Yes , realme has smartly downgraded sensor options Possibly ( My Theory ) , Realme 6 pro imaging was born out of competition , because of Xiaomi's Poco X2 ( Which had an excellent 64mp mode aka IMX 686 ( See GSMARENA review )) giving out excellent 2x zoom shots ( each photo of 50MB size ( Whereas 50Mp shots of 9pro+ are 20MB) ) , also Redmi 8 Pro , so Realme introduced these 2 Models to make Zoom its USP ( Like Now Call Recording in Samsung ). Now , who is competition , no one is after 2x - 3x zoom apart from Realme , atleast in Midrange , so except same stuff (-) Telephoto Lens , the USP of IMX 766 is flagship night mode on Pro+ ( It eats everyone mentioned here & comparable to Samsung S21 or Oneplus 10 Pro ) , & low Noise in 12mp mode daytime , else others are superior. Note - Poco x2 now has weaker camera after software updates.

Realme 8 Pro had 108 MP and 3x lossless zoom, and... moreThe 50MP main camera sensor is in fact a flagship-grade Sony IMX766 (with OIS) compared to the Samsung Isocell HM2 featured in the Realme 8 Pro. So technically, it's most likely an upgrade rather than a downgrade.

          Realme is the most overrated and advertised mobile company of the past 2 years. This device is a prime example where this publicity leads, for all the wrong reasons.
          GSMarena and social media, overplay the importance of photography over everything else and mobile makers are trying to profit from them, charging incredible ammounts and justifying it to camera hardware. Mostly the number of cameras and the false need of it, to justify prices going up from 400 to 1400, while overlooking the rest of the device. This one for example, it has lower battery capacity, a washed out screen of low refresh rate and pathetic luminosity, no IP rating, the advertise RAM extension, while they use the extremely outdated, cheap and slow UFS 2.2 memory. Huuuuge low bezel, huge selfie camera eye, extremely poorly situated in a very low and lateral position, forcing the status bar to come all the way down and lose a large part of screen estate. Making it bad for browsing, let alone gaming (gaming was never a priority with that GPU anyway)
          The slow memory cheap is unable to process photos and all this advertising cannot save it from the inability to shoot 1080p/60fps videos, as expected by such a cheap chip.
          Normally such low specs should be charged as low as 250 euros and yet because of the camera hype, they charge it for 400euros.Like Instagram models, would care for its existence and its sole purpose of existence is making better than average photos for them...

              AndroidAuthority, 29 Mar 2022Not really an upgrade for you I would have thought?No, maybe not, but the Sony IMX766 50MP with OIS is very tempting, a flagship camera sensor. And I can still sell my Mi 11 Lite 5G for some decent money. We will see.

                  A good screen, a good camera, fast charging, long battery life, enough performance, not too heavy. What not to like?

                  Maybe it's time to sell my Mi 11 Lite 5G and go for this?

                      I'm Michael form India wishing you all very Happy and safe and sound Holi!
                      I'm requesting you to take your few seconds to look into the full review, software and performance page of Realme 9 Pro+ . I've found the results of Antutu 8 and 9 somthing weird. On Antutu 8 the results are 495097 and on 9v the results are less 416031.
                      How's it so weird!
                      I've thought that this could be some kinda printing mistake or what!
                      If you don't mind, please clear this out.

                            Looks like a really great phone. They should do better with the logo. Luckily they removed the 'dare to leap' uglyness.

                              If only 4 core mali can destroy adreno 619 then qualcomm lied to us.
                              It is easy to say if gpu was 8 cire then it will kill even sd888+

                                Can anyone let me know so the phone doesn't let us download Netflix via Google AppStore?

                                The Realme 9 Pro+ supports HDR10 and is recognized as such device by most apps but Netflix. In fact, Netflix is not available for the Realme 9 Pro+ at all, but if you sideload it - you will be able to stream in Full HD thanks to the Widevine L1 DRM support.

                                      Soooo.... Realme 8 Pro had 108 MP and 3x lossless zoom, and even 5x zoom was "not bad". And 108 MP mode is real, not an upscaling. On the other hand, Realme 9 Pro+ has only 50 MP (with limited dynamic range) and 2x lossless zoom. It's sad, that Realme chose to drop camera capabilities in favor of CPU and other phone features.
