Iws, 15 May 2022Can we conclude that Xperia 1 IV is better than Pro-I in ev... moreIn AUTO/BASIC mode it is. They've made a lot of improvement in point n shoot category. Also all three cameras now have same amount of features and HDR burst with AF and AE lock. Quite impressive. On the other hand PRO-I main shooter is way too impressive if you don't shoot in auto mode. And then there is video and with video bayer pixel size really shows all of it's advantages.
So in the end 1 IV is all about versatile module while PRO-I is all about single but huge camera. Sure on 1 IV you get brighter display and bigger battery so that's a plus as well.

Following Sony Xperia since Sony Ericsson era
Buy every high end. Sharp is not available in Europe. Aquos R7 is very interesting though.
Pro-I or 5 will have maybe not successor

It doesn't work when air humidity is below 30%. You have to blow on or lick your finger to dampen your skin. It also unlocks completely randomly when brushing up against your hand or fabric. That's a major security flaw and it leads to pocket dialing and dead batteries.

Of course there are other very good Android brands like Samsung, Oppo, etc. but I like having different devices from others. In the 80s and 90s I bought a lot of entertainment electronics. Now less because the mobile replaces at least 5! Otherwise at home it's more Panasonic products. I will without hesitation buy this Sony Xperia 1 IV as I will also take the next one.

Unless you only use a smartphone for camera and productivity work, a $400 upper-midrange smartphone is more than enough. Not everyone needs all those overkill hardware you mentioned in your comments.

And needs some additional software optimisations before product release, mainly due to SoC throttling. Everything else is top notch. Even the review says so. If you think otherwise, well, you re the one thats biased.
