Because this thing is barely any better than the snap 860
And this 7 gen 1 is running on Samsung 4nm
And these new cores are not the upgrade they try to advertise they aren't as efficient
Overall this thing is more an 870 than anything else

Qualcomm will come really close only in 2023 when they finally release SoCs based on Nuvia designs.

How about you test sustained performance and thermal throttling? Burnout Benchmark is a good app for that.

I saw some ROG Phone 6 schematics "leaked" online before. this reference phone from Asus looks a LOT like that leaked schematics. here's me hoping that this means the ROG Phone 6 is just on the horizon along with the Zenfone 9

SD 7 gen 1 have 2 cl... more7 gen 1 uses samsung's 4nm, while 870 uses TSMC's 7N pro.
In theory, the 7gen1 should be a little bit more efficient (being a newer arch and using a process with EUV), but according to this video, it's not.

SD 7 gen 1 have 2 cluster CPU Architecture with different ARM cortex core than 870.
its also manufactured in 4nm fabs, while the 870 use 7nm fabs. lol

Just keep the frequency increase to yourself and extract even more efficiency. Those gains would be even higher at the same frequency.

It still has the top tier performance and comparing to other chipsets from other manufactures (Samsung, Mediatek) it still has some benefits that makes it the best one, for e.g 8K video support (Mediatek lacks this) or an actually good ISP.

Not even 1 dimensity 9000 powered phone has been reviewed by GSMA, so far. So your assumption that Dimensity 9000 is better than SD 8 Gen 1+ is just that - ASSUMPTION. We need to wait for review of at least 1 phone each with SD 8 Gen 1+ Vs Dimensity 9000, to get an idea of which is the best Android SoC available.
