It also does not allow you to use the periscope lens when the amount of light is lacking, 50MP mode is blocked at the API level, the ultrawide is a pure mess and hell I am not even mentioning it does not feature eye autofocus nor 30fps burst shooting of Xiaomi.

              A relatively good review, despite some bias and subjectivity. Nowhere did they say - "This is the best 📲 on Earth" 🤷🏻‍♂️.
              The cameras need the Zeiss anti-reflective coating, and a software fix. The selfie camera is DEFINITELY weak - maybe Laika didn't work there 🤔.
              Otherwise, the device is excellent - for now 😅.

                I prefer paying 500 dollar less for mi 11 ultra with rear display. The camera difference is not much noticible and the extra processing power is not handy for daily use. Mi 11 ultra is now the best bang for bucks.

                  According to Counterpoint, the Bill of Materials of 12s Ultra costs $512.
                  The iphone 13 Pro (not even Max) 256GB is $570.

                  Then some people here still doubt that chinese brands have many components that are cheaper compared to foreign brands.

                  * note BoM is just the cost of hardware, other costs not included.

                    Nick Tegrataker, 17 Jul 2022Lens flare seems to be well controlled, although Vivo flags... moreLens flare and blown highlights are a problem for large sensors and while coating and software can go a long way, I've seen 12S shots that blow bright areas out, while the iPhone retains some detail. The iPhone is pricier, but the S12 Ultra sells for more than the Pixel 6 Pro and overall, the Pixel is a no-brainer over the 12S Ultra, IMO.

The iPhone 13 Max cannot compete on zoom but seems to be similar and often better when comparing the main cameras, and especially the wide.

                        I just can't get it why you didn't mention Pixel 6 Pro as an alternative option. Or Google is out of the league?

                          Would be great to see 5x natural bokeh of periscope camera cause it's a large sensor too

They go through this in a comparison with the Xiaomi 11 ultra. There is no DC dimming in the normal settings like the Xiaomi 11 ultra has. However if you go into developer settings there is an option. They concluded though that 'the effect is really weak compared to the 11 Ultra' which is probably why it's hidden in developer mode

Better softwa... moreMi 11 Ultra was out of stock in most markets, so it's definitely not about lack of demand. The Mi 10 Ultra was limited to China too, but demand for it outside of China was strong. The 12S Ultra's uncompetitive pricing outside of China could be one of the reasons, along with slower production than expected due to supply chain issues.

                                    Since a whole lot of time & many reviews, GSMArena has remained silent on slow motion video recording.

                                    One reason could be that most phone cameras are going for not actually recording in this rate, but artifically making frames and putting them in the middle of actual frames through AI...
                                    And with my brief time with Mi 11x, let me tell you this approach is as rubbish as it gets:- artifcats around objects make even recording a moving fan appear like a paintbursh smear.

                                    Now, we have another high claim- 720p at 3840 fps. What's the truth?
                                    Is it actual 3840 fps recording or should we brutally ignore it, like GSM Arena did?

                                      lol I don't understand why some chinese flagships like this and x80 pro get crappy front cams? cutting corners or to not affect selfie centric mid ranger sales? Just unacceptable
