@ sanjeev
yeah me and my bro bought 2 of these both of us having this prob specially coming from nokia, who keep loudness up in their sets as per indian requirements,
SE has to learn requirements of different place and accordingly should bring up the sets or make changes as per needed..
after 1 months of its use, i realised volume remains same but i have adjusted but if going to karol bagh or chandni chowk like crowded space it is hihgly unlikely u able to understand even a single word.
SE PLEASE RECTIFY THIS PROB AS WELL AS PROXIMITY SENSOR PROBLEM.

SE is great at making devices. but they suck bigtime in the software side of the product. my suggestion is. if you keep bringing out good product but your developer side could not bring out the best on your phone or device. fire them all and form a new one.

Anonymous, 29 Apr 2010the worst thing of this beautiful phone is 65K colors.. 65k is only limited to the OS. And that will be resolved when we get the new android OS update.
TBH, its impossible to tell that its 65k colours, unless purposely look for soft gradients in images.
I've used the phone for more than a week now, and I have never felt a moment where I felt I missed multitouch, or a better resolution screen.
INFACT everybody i've showed the phone to are stunned by the quality of the screen!

“At the time of the announcement of Xperia X10 (3 Nov 2009) we confirmed on our product blog that Xperia X10 would not support the android core feature of multi touch at the time of launch. As the project has evolved we have subsequently announced that that Xperia X10 will be upgraded during its lifecycle with improvements in the User Experience Platform, incorporating software feature improvements and a later release of the android OS. However, owing to the particular hardware and software configuration of the X10, multi-touch capabilities will not be enabled in the core platform irrespective of the software upgrade. Whilst there has been intense discussion amongst online consumers about many of the detailed features supported by the X10, Sony Ericsson has at no point made any official statement indicating support of multi touch as a core feature of the Xperia X10.
Whilst Sony Ericsson does not generally comment on speculation about future product or feature announcements, our communication principle is to have an open and honest dialogue with consumers and we make the above clarification in order to avoid any mis-conceptions among purchasers of the Xperia X10. We have had extremely positive consumer feedback following our first shipments of the Xperia X10 and we are very confident that this product delivers a user experience that is truly unique and will delight consumers the world over.”

The iphone 3GS's camera is not a joke - actually it performs much better than many phone cameras that have a higher pixel count. There is multitasking too - many improvements in OS4.

bummy, 23 Apr 2010I just bought this phone yesterday!!! YAY!!! I've been o... moreYou won't believe this but I returned the phone back to the retailer (in the UK) then returned to Milan ... saw the same phone for £70 cheaper and checked the firmware. BOUGHT IT and now got it fully set up :-) !! Now all I'd like to do is see if the home screen can accept a "floating menu", i.e. make a standard, portrait pic my home-screen and force the left/right sides of the menu to float on the top of it. Any suggestions would be great !

Gordon, 22 Apr 2010Here's the wi-fi problem in more detail (Mobile-review) - l... moreI just bought this phone yesterday!!! YAY!!!
I've been on wifi @ home and had no problems. I think its with certain connections only? I'm sure they'll fix it with in firmwares soon.
Overall i'm fairly happy. The pre-installed Sony Keyboard is really bad, Switching it to Android keyboard is already 10x better.
I do see what you mean by the lack of intuitiveness ~~ theres' alot of menus for customizations. But I think in a week or two, I'll know where to find everything I need, and will enjoy the fact that there's so much control.
best of luck on your next phone!

The phone went back in the end. Discovered that the hardware was non-UK standard so that seemed to stuff everything up.(Think I had the version ending in 014 and it should be 016 - or vice-versa)
All in all, very disappointing and I'd be interested to know how you get on with it. I can honestly say it was the most frustrating 5 days of my life !
