i know pixon 12 pics are over-saturated but in video section both wave and iphone4 are much better than n8. also that crappy symbian interface. it's 10 years old ui with widgets :(

Although I still hoped they looked at this abit more as a phone and not just as a camera. I wrote this already, but I'll say it again. The camera was the smallest reason for me to buy this phone, yet I'm totally satisfied, which is due to the "swiss army knife" mindset this phone has.
Does craploads of things well, although not being the best in it. And that really suits for me. I don't need the fastest phone, I can wait few ms longer, if it gives me the overall freedom and versatility of Symbian.

Hate how people complain about 3rd party software availability being limited on Nokia devices. I haven`t even gone to the Ovi Sotre yet, and i`ve downloaded over 40 games and 30 applications for my phone from any number of sites that offer apps and games.

I think this is a fair review. The two major downsides to the phone, text entry and the browser are being solved as we speak. In the meanwhile there is Opera & Swype. The N8 is a win!

Looks like Symbian^3 has set of the evolution we've been waiting for. Can't wait to read the C7 review! That's the Symbian I'm waiting for!

I dont know why battery has been called disadvantage. It not the best but last for almost 2 days....TWO DAYS....more than enough for me....

great cameraphone nokia.
but still far from touch playground.
symbian still the best for keypad phone,too bad everything move to touch centric phone now.

You can have Android and the iPhone and it's beautiful fluff and eye candy. Along with it's restrictions and crapware and bloatware.
I'll take the stale software of Nokia and the freedom it gives me to use my phone how I want to use it and not how somebody else wants me to. I'll get my music and apps where I want and how I want and put them on my phone how I want and use them how I want.
Freedom....Thats the real beauty of Nokia, that no others can match.
For me, that trumps all.

N8 is a great device, no doubt. the camera alone worth the price. but the OS needs lots more work into it. i'll stick to my android thank you.

I think the phone is cool.
I would get one if it is available in Nicaragua on Saturday bcoz I intend to get an Iphone4.
But it is not out here yet :(
Anyway, the camera takes the best pics amongst all cameraphone out there.
When it come to HD Video, it seems that Samsung wave takes better video.
But it's not a huge letdown.
My biggest disappointment is the OS...symbian3 is soooo yesterday :(
Not so many apps out there.
Surely this will be jailbroken after a week in the market.

Just awesome!!! I am soooo going to buy it. Today I am going to Nokia store for the phone. Thank you GSMA for the review. I believe, there is NOT a single phone to claim the chair of "The Ultimate Phone", but the applications inside are the things which will guide you towards any phone.
And for all the "Nokia haters", did it ever come to your mind that different people likes different styles & things? Think about it, I might never like the SAME THING that you like. If that would be the case, all the girls would go only for me, there wouldn't be any left for you (cause all the girls would like me, choose me as they have the same likings). So please, all of you, respect others' chioce, you'll get yours. What does it matter we fight and call each other names? Does that make our phone better than someone else's? Or do we get paid for it? Actually NONE. So try to respect others' chioce, no matter how bad it might be. For you, it might be bad, but for someone else, that can be awesome. Those who still keeps on fighting (doesn't matter if they like or dislike any particular company), I'll say that your girlfriend/wife/sister/mother is ..... Now, how does that feel? I'll respect your choice IF AND ONLY IF you learn to respect mine.

But the phone is certainly not a letdown even if you don't buy it for the camera. Camera was one of the smallest reasons for me to buy this device, and I'm not regretting it the tiniest bit.

This is not a real comparison because it used an early test model Pixon12 The good news is that it is not visible blur on N8 photos , this is amazing
