And just to add to that, if ur planning to buy a budget android , this phone will not disappoint you. I recommend it! Its just awesum.

hello everybody.. i just got this phone last week.. and it is one of the best android phones available in the Indian market. since i message a lot,i wanted a physical qwerty keyboard.. and the physical qwerty is a joy to type.. its so fast when u get used to it.. it took me 3 days to get used to the layout..and now i can type in lightning speed..even the touch pad is very responsive and the keys on the onscreen keyboard is also well laid out and its easy typing.. sadly there was no swype in the phone though the phone specifications on the box said it has swype. anyhow i dont really miss swype.. there r tonns of alternate keyboards in android market.. and i'v installed slide it.. its really gud and very fast in its words prediction.i use slide it keyboard more than physical keyboard thanks to its ease of use.
coming to the build quality of the phone.. it is solidly built, and has a glossy plastic cover..it also gets scratched easily and always prone to fingerprint marks and is pretty slippery too.. it is something i dont like.. i prefer matte finish like optimus one.. except that everything else is trully wonderful. its got a really classy look and the slider functions beautifully..overall it is pleasing..
coming to the camera... its got a 3.2mp autofocus camera.. it it really nice..as u all know samsung is known to make good quality cameras... it gives good quality pics.. and has good clarity.. no issues with camera at all. even video clarity is more than sufficient.
coming to the user interface.. it has froyo and also touchwhiz.. so its user interface is very comfortable and satisfying...and i have no issues with it.
coming to the battery... well this has been the only downfall of the phone.. i wish samsung would provide 1500mah battery... but this battery is not all that disappointing i have been seeing a considerable improvement in the battery performance from the time i got the phone.. but all you nokia users would feel the pinch.. since i use a lot of internet (2hrs) for downloading and also messaging and calls(1hr) and games(2hrs) and google maps and navigation(1hour) and music (5hours)i get about a day of usage but i have to charge again in the night.. but without much use of gprs and gps.. i got upto 1.5 days.. so it is pretty nice and average battery and its surprisingly improving..
coming to the audio quality.. this phone comes with a really wonderful in ear type of earphones and the clarity and music quality is excellent.
and for people who are worrying about the absence document viewer or editor in the phone need not worry at all.. there are plenty of apps in the market free of cost...
finally i would like to conclude by telling that this is the best phone in the market at this time and i would recommend it to everybody. its got everything a first time android user needs and it can surely make a style statement. its well priced and affordable and the closest phone in this range is lg optimus one. but that does not have a slider qwerty and it has a slower processor. just dont worry bout this phone.. go ahead and but it. i got it for 12750 rupees with 4gb card.

I have a lg gw 620 was not fully satisfied with it as battery is weak. Music is not as loud n the phone heats up sometimes .plus it has android 1.6 cupcake. So i am intrested in buying samsumg 551. What hapens if this phone doesnt support flash?

Hi to all,
I am using this phone from last one month and it's really good to use. But I am facing one issue in it:
When I am install any application from market and I move that application to SD Card. Then after I am restart phone then some of the newly installed application from market is not display in menu.
If any one face this issue and have a solution then please reply me

samsung galaxy 551 has gr8 option of android market from which we can download about 1 lakh aaplication in our smartphone,touch resoulation of the phone is also nice.

Hi,
Bough this phone yesterday...its value to money...excellent touch, nice screen, comfortable qwerty and antroid 2.2...battery backup is not great, if you are using maps and other internet options...with an hour use of maps an an hour of internet daily(gmail,gps etc ), it will last for around 1.5 days with couple of hours of call...camera is also below average(no flash)
But i am finding a funny problem...i have a 3G connection and all applications like gmail, weather,gps,maps etc are working well except the browser! I am not able to browse any sites with browser. Can any body help me plz?

the touch is quite responsive and it has excellent display but the battery really drains fast wont last more than a day
ps: the phone does not support flash,buy one which does
although youtube works through app
