michael, 30 Sep 2020does you update on the march update. me and three of my fri... morei've installed and used all security patches including march, but i never experienced any screen issue. each time there's an update (either major or patch), i always install them to make sure that my Note 9 is still stable and secured. by the way, i never use custom roms (or odin), only official updates directly from Samsung.

Set your brighness to lowest or maximum, it will solve the problem as i just notice after i buy new handphone and try to sync the data from note 9 . For me, i will ban samsung forever even though the cost of replacement screen is cheaper then buy a new device. All this happend after march patch update. It samsung fault and yet they still denie on it and still charge for screen replacement.

Shinobi688, 29 Sep 2020i don't know about you guys, but either your phones we... moredoes you update on the march update. me and three of my friend all having the same screen issue. And all note 9 are direct buy from samsung dealer. If your seach in internet, most of the people facing same issue after march update. So you might be very lucky. Been go to service center, the only thing they do is charge for replacement. And rather to replace, i just throw a side and buy a new handphone even need spend more then that for the cost of changing screen. As this will be last samsung handphone i going to use. Too irresponsible to the end users as they never admit is their fault.

Anonymous, 29 Sep 2020Is it the september security pach wrong??I did not update to the latest security patch since I don't need it. Besides, reading troll comments here won't help you. Most of the people here are just playing around. Most of them were NOT REALLY Samsung N9 users. I have been updating my phone since Android 8 WITHOUT any issues. Maybe those folks that suffers from screen issues doesn't know that there phone is either original or refurbish that's why they were experiencing those things. My sister's phone had a screen replacement before that's why it was affected by the green screen issue. But it's fine now after I reinstall the OS and do a factory reset. If reverting back to OLD version of OS possible, then that would be the most effective solution. Chances are, 99% that Samsung/Google won't allow you to because you have the latest security patch that will block you from doing so lol

Anonymous, 29 Sep 2020The purpose of a security patch is self explanatory. It mak... moreSecurity patches are just for people with lots of personal info stored on their devices, but in reality, an updated security patch vs an old patch doesn't makes any difference at all as sometimes they are just changing the numbers just to tell you that they updated it. Even if you have the latest security patch, once you click on a click bait and got into a page that will took all of your personal info, the said security of your phone will not help you at all. For me it's just a mere decoration just to tell you that your phone is more secured. Even if you turn on the antivirus on your device care (which most of you don't know that it exist), it will still be hacked. Hackers are not stupid you know. Sometimes they were the developers themselves. That's why I don't really rely on ADS that your phone's company is promoting. Also, I can live without OS update. As I've mentioned it doesn't concerns me at all so long as my device works perfectly fine. OS update are just for people that wants to have the new feature (old feature of other phones) that they sometimes don't even use or needed at all (or just insecure about other phone's feature). I've seen a lot of troll opinions on this section so I guess being here will not help me in the near future as most of the infos I read here were just trolls. Waste of time

Zero, 29 Sep 2020Well, NOT for all. As OS update and security patch update (... moreThe purpose of a security patch is self explanatory. It makes the device less prone to cyber crime. Those are absolutely necessary. An operating system update on the other hand is not unless you can't live without the new "features" that it might offer. The recent ones end up placing limitations on your device anyway while under the guise of improving user experience. Security patches though are your friend.

i don't know about you guys, but either your phones were bought 2nd hand / refurbished, or perhaps you got your phone from a non-official Samsung distributor. i bought my Note 9 here at Samsung Hong Kong (Exynos) and i've been using this since launch (2018). right now it is fully updated to android 10, one ui 2.1 and sept 2020 security update. my phone still works flawlessly, no problem at all. for every major android update (starting from 8 to 10), i do a hard reset (vol up, bixby, power, plus clear cache), and my phone never fails. so if you are experiencing ANY problem, back up your files then do a hard reset. Note 9 is the LAST GREATEST NOTE PHONE from Samsung, so i will still be using this for a very long time until there are no more security updates.

Anonymous, 28 Sep 2020Operating system update is one thing and security patch is ... moreWell, NOT for all. As OS update and security patch update (for what purposes will I update?) is not literally necessary and mandatory. Cause if it was, then they will just force update the OS for us. But we have an option to defer. You get to decide whether to update or not to update. So don't blame others for your own personal decision. For me I only update WHEN it is necessary. NOT ALL features are useful, some are promotional bloatwares. Remember we have a samsung store or google play store to update our apps optionally. Some folks may have issues after OS update and some will not so why bother if the phone is running perfectly. Updated OS will NOT increase the value of your device. Sometimes, it breaks it. Be contented with what your phone can offer. So my honest answer to your question, YOURSELF. It's not samsung, it's not google, but yourself. You decided to update in the first place. They just offered you. So why blame others for your own mistake?

Anonymous, 28 Sep 2020Operating system update is one thing and security patch is ... morewhoever it is that is to blame is another story, the crux of the problem here is that samsung kept quiet , is still keeping quiet and is pretending not to know and probably hoping that people forget about it. THAT is SHAMEFUL corporate behavior/culture ! people all make mistakes but man up , own it , do something about it and move on ! ( like they did with their "explosive" note 7 )
