SpeedBro, 30 Aug 2020I'm sorry to hear that you've problem with your a... morehello , Thanks for the reply . Yes i did try the Wipe Cache . Also made a factory reset after backing up the data from Smart Switch . Went to Sasmung Service center yesterday . Their loaded the a different stable version or august and then July 2020 OS patch , Still the screen discoloration . Then the lady at the counter mentioned , as this device is now out of warranty (june 2019 purchase ) we cant do screen replacement , but we can offer it at AED 767 / 200 USD /Rs15340 . I was really upset at this reply from Samsung rep , I know now for sure samsung will not support you in any issue past their warranty period or i your dont have their paid CARE+

I updated the August security patch on 25th Aug, and started getting the screen issue from 29th August . i would like to warn the users , not to update to August version. It has some serious bugs that is making the screen go yellow / blurry .

If you need a device with a S-Pen for note taking, drawing or kind of that stuffs, take Note 9. Now it has a discounted price for New one.

If you dont need s-pen foe your daily things, go for S10 series.. it has a discounted price too.. and also has 3 rear cameras.

It cleaned up any junk and temporary files without hard reset it.
If i not mistaken, many case solved with this method. Your phone will have a 'fresh' wake up without you do a hard reset.

It's better if you make a backup of all your data to your samsung account. So your login info will keep saved.

Btw when did your discolor problem started to appear?

Some of us get august 2020 update with no problem, exynos version also.. many of them tried to "wipe the cache" their Note9 after successfully updated to new version.

after August 25th update , Even I am facing screen discoloration and blurry .

I thought initially it is because of some app. But then found out many users like me have the same issue . I ll be going to Samsung Care and get a response . Will keep you posed on the Outcome . Most probably they will flash the OS with A stable one . So i am going to loose all the login info .
I am In Dubai -btw , Note 9 -128 Exynos. One Advise , Do not update to the August OS update .

Let's just wait for OneUI 2.5 maybe that will fix the issue of your phone. Just don't forget to backup you personal files before you update. Just in case, atleast you can do a factory reset to make the phone run smoother

I bought Note 9, two years ago for a premium price in Sri Lanka, but by today its screen is gone dull and blurry. What's the point of purchasing a premium product that can's even last 36 months!!!
Can some one tell me how to deal with this?

Hi, I was a fan of Samsung. I have a 11 month old note9 (512gb), - in total I have 2 s8+, 1 note 8, 1 s10 lite, 1 tab s3 apart from the above device. After Aug20 security upgrade, screen discoloration issue has araised. Luckily, as my handset is in warranty, I had been to Samsung, service centre where in I was made to wait for almost 2hrs in the queue line, staff response there was very careless & arrogant.

Products were sold as stating premium (best hardware), charging premium prices, but not no preferential service at a service centre.

Customer care number doesn't get connected properly, no customer service email available.

I have decided not to buy a Samsung device anymore in my life.

reasons: headphone jack, iris scanner, physical & more faster fingerprint, notification led, s-pen
if you not looking for these feature then go with s10+
S10+ is great device and little bit faster than note9 but not that much, battery life is almost same not a huge difference.

                              in part it reads -

Samsung users may be forced to payout

This could mean that Note 9 users may have to pay for a new display unit to repair their device. Thus far Samsung has offered little to no support for these issues and has no solution.

Given it sprung from an internal update the hope is that the company may come up with a solution for owners. However, given the age of the device, this may not happen as the company may not view it as a priority.

It looks like Note 9 users may have to pay up to $250 to fix their devices. This is very steep for a problem ultimately caused by Samsung themselves. Also considering how much a Note 9 is now worth, it probably is not worth spending that money.

Is the OneUI 2.5 worth it? I'm currently running the June 25 (First OneUI 2.1) update as I don't find any issues with this version at all. I am always doing a factory reset after an update (Minor or Major) to test if the Software has issues or none. Doing a factory reset solves the issues if your hardware does not have problems.

Someone kindly suggests between Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S10+, what the better one to buy is?
