Every software version of Samsung is broken one way or another. You have bugs if you don't update, and if you update you get new bugs. Pick your poison...

I'm still running Android 8.1.0 without any problems whether it's the display, camera or battery life. Why do you all update your phones? The features you receive are minimal, does it really make a difference? The UI keeps changing but the functions never change!
The main problem is, ppl are never satisfied with what you have and in the end you all suffer the consequences.
If it ain't broke, don't patch it up!!!

I bought Note 9 512gb in September 2018. I was very happy with the phone The performance was very good. I used to get around 5 hours of screen on time from battery. Somewhere in August or September 2019 after one update the screen got dull and yellowish, I was upset with the screen. Note 9 was the first phone which I used for 1 year otherwise I used to change the phone with every S and Note series in 6 months. I sold my note 9 because of the screen and bought Note 10 plus 512gb.
Note 10 plus is also very good phone in terms of performance and battery however I missed 3.5 mm jack and heart rate monitor which I used most often. Also the punch hole in the screen was disturbing. I started missing my Note 9 but I could not find it anywhere. Again I bought S20 plus its very good again and compact and feels good to hold in hand. Again the same thing I was missing my Note 9. Last week I got Note 9 512gb in gulf at a very good price. I bought it and started using it. I received series of update as I started it. 8 to 9 hours I was receiving updates and after installing all the updates I format my memory card which is 400 gb and format my phone also. Then I started using it and I was surprised with its performance Its much better than before and the battery back up has increased to far extent. Now its giving battery back up of 8 to 9 hours screen on time. I am very happy that I got Note 9 again.
I have S20 plus 5g 512gb 12gb ram version
I have Note 10 plus 512gb 12gb ram version
I have S9 256gb version
All I kept aside and I am using my Note 9 again. This is the last best phone from Samsung. Good bye samsung I will not buy any more of your phone unless you again started making phones like note 9 again. My need is heart rate sensor, 3.5mm jack and no holes or notch in the screen.

It... morethe note 10 plus and the note 20 ultra is a worthy upgrade......bigger brighte and almost bezeless display......more internal storage and ram.......Infinity O display bigger battery unless you are one of those who toting about lack of headphone jack and the obselete iris scanner which if its so better you downgrade to a A series or another brand. Samsung still will be be number one in the world market

Anonymous, 15 Jul 2020I just updated my Note 9 to Android 10, works pretty good, ... moreTrue. Maybe the screen issue is just in other variants. I'm using XTC and didn't have any issues with the latest update. In fact it improves my phone's performance and battery life. Even it's camera is a bit clearer now.

This has been such a good phone over the last two years. It's going to be hard to find a new phone that's actually an upgrade.

ml, 20 Jul 2020Ok , so I called Samsung service center as was told that &q... moresame with me. They created a job sheet and took the phone for 2 weeks. Meanwhile they informed they need to run some analysis and order for the display. It was a long wait. Good thing is atleast they fixed it.

ml, 20 Jul 2020ok , will see what happens ! Thanks mate !Ok , so I called Samsung service center as was told that "since the unit is OUT OF WARRANTY, they need to seek approval from Samsung ( I assume higher-ups ) for the screen, or whatever part it is that was broken by the update, to be repaired/replaced free of charge "- IF it is approved, that is .
Now comes the caveat , I need to leave my phone with them ( service center ) for up to 2 weeks before Samsung can act on it ! Told them I was willing to pay the "diagnostic fee" of P350 ( $7) , as long as I can have my phone back right away so I can use it while they are waiting for Samsung's reply , but was told that they CANNOT since their system will "cancel / close" the file once I pay the diagnostic fee and "check out" my phone !
A self-respecting reputable company would have taken the initiative to proactively inform the affected parties to have their units fixed free of charge ( like car manufacturers do ) or be issuing recall orders since it was their "UPDATE" that broke it in the first place and now instead of helping they seem to be making things difficult for us ! !!!!!!! CAVEAT EMPTOR EVERYONE !!!!!!!!!
