You're right, we're in 2022 now. We should stop with the removal and worsening of basic phone functionality. The only "going backwards" here is phone companies raising the prices while simultaneously stripping away features. Just because you don't use it, doesn't mean "most people" don't use it.

If someone legitimately told me that using wired earb... moreIn the most ideal circumstances, i.e. AirPods, wireless buds can win out purely for being just as convenient to use as wired with the added "clean" look of no cable. However, for the average person, bluetooth pairing is a fucking nightmare, especially when using third-party buds that can play fast and loose with expected bluetooth device behavior, and the easily understandable and consistent experience of just plugging a metal connector into an appropriately shaped hole and getting your audio immediately wins out 99% of the time.

Joboalsafa, 18 Jan 2022they made that cause the majority was using that 120Hz and ... moreIf majority of people used S20 on 120Hz 1080p, then why are now people barking about the lack of 1440p on S21? Every corner I go, I hear someone complain. Maybe some guys did use S20 on 60Hz 1440p and didn't give a crap about 120Hz, but Samsung fully took this out of the equation... and paid dearly for it.

Anonymous, 30 Dec 2021https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s21_fe_5g-10954.php... morethey made that cause the majority was using that 120Hz and to use that on the s20 you need to drop the resolution to FHD+. and to be honest it's not a big deal at all if they can not offer it with a high refresh rate cause once you use that 120Hz you can't live without it

Djlastec, 18 Jan 2022Out of this s21 and s10 plus, which one is better?S21 has 1080p, while S10 plus has 1440p, micro sd and headphone jack (which is apparently a huge benefit). But S21 has 120Hz, better protection, faster chip. Since S21 is a newer phone, I would recommend it unless you are used to 1440p.

Anonymous, 14 Jan 2022A Lot of you are hating on a phone you don't have. To ... moreTrust me, these folks can tell the difference between 1080p and 1440p, but only because they have been spoiled to the point where resolution is the only thing that matters in the phone. They have not just had the S20, but the S10, S9, S8, S7 and all the S series flagships before it. So now they are [damn right] used to this high resolution and they can't go back to 1080p, it looks fuzzy and blurry to them. Kind of like when you try drugs, you can't go back.

No need to go backwards and put a headphone jack back on a line phones. Not when it has already been removed. Of course they could do it. But I don't see why. Not when most people would not even use it.

tituskl, 15 Jan 2022Good for you that wireless earbuds have made your life easi... moreLook. If someone legitimately told me that using wired earbuds was a lot better, a tangible experience, then I would say yes, it is a loss to not have a headphone jack.
I'm saying headphone jacks are meant for audiophiles, because (I think) the average consumer can use wireless earbuds without thinking the quality of it is trash.

Idk, Samsung actually had the headphone jack on their phones for a lot of years, but in the end they axed it for the same reason as all others... MONEY. Revenue from wireless earbuds.

RandyRiffin, 13 Jan 2022I had wired earbuds and they have never 'bent' ou... moreGood for you that wireless earbuds have made your life easier. May I ask how that relates the idea of Samsung removing the headphone jack from their phones entirely? How does the option being there harm you in any way? Just because you personally don't use wired headphones anymore means nobody should have the option anymore? That's a pretty selfish way to look at the world.
Also, no, you are not about to legitimately argue that a 3.5mm headphone jack is only useful for "audiophiles." You can only use that argument if you're willing and ready to claim that every single device ever manufactured with a headphone jack was designed for audiophiles.
