Worse screen than my 4 gen old S8
Worse back (if I wanted plastic I'd buy a budget phone) than my 4 gen old S8
Worse bezels than my 4 gen old S8
Would have to buy the more expensive option for more storage as there's no SD support
Man I just want to upgrade, but 4 years down the line and the successor is more a downgrade than anything? Wow.

Mike, 17 Feb 2021Last time i bought s series phone.i had them all from s6.th... moreExactly...S21 is a mid range phone and should have been launched as A serie with these specs. And half price too...Hopefully next year Samsung engineers will wake up and launch a real flagship.

Last time i bought s series phone.i had them all from s6.this is very big downgrade.i don't care about 200 off price.i want a regular sized s phone with all features and best screen like it was until now.s21 ultra is too big.if they don't deliver next year i am gonna stop buying it and i am sure many people will.also who wants a lower price and less features have A series or whatever so don't tell me they did it to make their flagship less expensive.this is not a flagship period.they should learn from apple something good not just bad things.iphone 12pro and pro max same.just different size.no downgrades

My S10 from 2 years ago has better screen (1440 x 3040 against 1080 x 2400), memory card, 3.5 mm jack, heart rate monitor, was smaller, lighter with cameras about same quality...with no major upgrade in years, no need to change. Will wait for an S phone with flexible screen or under display camera.

I'm also in the US. So I've always had the Snapdragon versions of the Galaxy S phones . Which, like usual, is better than the Exynos version sold overseas.
Although, if I remember correctly, my S6 used the Exynos SoC. But that was all that was offered with that phone.
The S6 was my first galaxy S phone. And my first new cell phone. Prior to the S6 I had been buying used or refurbished cell phones since 1994. But started getting new phones in 2015 and trading them in every two years for another new phone.

Alex, 16 Feb 2021Yes, Aaron, you've already mentioned that you only mis... moreBut having a lower price is also an incentive. If they dropped some of these features and kept the price the same? Then it would not be worth it. But lowering the price, plus increasing trade in values by $250? Essentially they lowered the price by over $400(compared to the S20) with the extra trade in and lower retail price.
And you could even add another $50 reduction for the 256GB version. Since they used to charge $100 to go from 128GB of storage to 256GB. Instead of the $50 they now charge.
If I actually needed all those features they removed, then I would be looking at a different phone. But from my point of view I see a huge value in the S21. With the price I was able to pay. $300 for an S21 with 256GB of storage after trade in of a two year old Galaxy S phone. Compared to my S10 with 128GB of storage which cost me $600 after trade in of a two year old galaxy S phone.
I am very pleased with the functions of the S21 for the price I paid. Not to mention being back to having a flat screen again. After having those Edge screens with my S8 and S10. Which I was never a fan of.
And then in 2022, if they finally put the selfie lens behind the screen. And finally have all screen for the display? I will trade my S21 in for an S22.

SM25, 14 Feb 2021What's this new Exynos 2100 like regarding battery lif... moreThe short answer to your question is a big NO. Exynos midel is rubbish you can get about 6 hours OST and about 14 to 15 standby time. This is inferior to all the phones I've used and the past 4 years, this including Samsungs own s8 which was an exceptionally good exynos work horse.

Do not get the exynos version - battery is horrible! Can't get even a 4 solid hours of on screen time with about 12 hours of standby time. This is pure garbage, Samsung should be ashamed of them selves for selling this kind of hardware. Be wise - avoid it.

But this is simply unacceptable to strip down so many features in the new releases.

I think they downgraded the phone from last year because they want to end the S serie. I would not be surprised to see Samsung next year launching a new flagship serie "X", maybe with foldable screens.

From my experience so far, the only thing I use that is inferior on my S21 compared to my S10 is the screen resolution. Everything else I use on the phone has easily been an upgrade.
And then only the screen resolution is inferior. The S21 screen can hit 1300 nits brightness. Several times higher than the S10 was. The S21 screen does a superb job with HDR content.

Yet another new phone with a annoying camera bump on the back ( just make the phone fatter so it has a flat back )
Plus the stupid punch hole camera in the front screen.
Looks like I'll be sticking with my S9 for another year.

No Card slot, no 3.5mm jack, plastic back, for Exynos model no fm radio. Bixby yes for all models, hehe nobody wants this, Google is far better. So thanks but no.

What's this new Exynos 2100 like regarding battery life? I've seen comparable battery drain test where S21 reached 1.5 Sot more or so than S20, further in Gsmarena test also better result with S21.
What are your experiences, can this battery endure whole day until tomorrow morning with average usage (surfing, A little YouTube videos and chat)?
