Anonymous, 20 Feb 2022Yet another year im forced to stick to my failing S8 becaus... moreThe same story here. The only good option in the last few years was S20 BUT with Snapdragon 865 (one of the best SD chip in history), since Exynos 990 with small battery in regular S20 was a big NO!

Yet another year im forced to stick to my failing S8 because of the 1080p display
I would have bought the S20 if it didn't come with that garbage Exynos
I guess my best option would be the S21 Ultra now that it's cheaper even tho i don't like big phones

Upgrades are too small.
At best one should wait 3 years before they buy a new model.

Anonymous, 19 Feb 2022Google could fit 4000 battery in the 6.0" pixel 5, why... moreThey can, they choose not to, to save some cents off each unit. And we thought General Motors were bad for doing this back in the day!

Anonymous, 19 Feb 2022Because they want you to spend more money and get the 22+ o... moreThere is no technical reason?
You cant forget that all phones with over 4500 mha have a display over 6.5'.
The purpose here is to create a compact phone with good specs for people that likes to have a small phone. And of course must be affordable and competitive so in somehow they need to cut in something.

Come on...no charger, no memory card but still 128 Gb, and 900 euros !
Oppo, Xiaomi, Honor, Realme...all the competition gives 128 Gb in 180 euros phones.
I have been using only Samsung phones and changing every year, but next one will be chinese, just to know what they are all about.

I have 8GB of RAM, on my S21, with Android 12 and it is smooth as butter. It's very fast and fluid. And with the faster SoC in the S22, I expect it to get even faster.

Anonymous, 19 Feb 2022Google could fit 4000 battery in the 6.0" pixel 5, why... moreBecause they want you to spend more money and get the 22+ or Ultra. Low battery capacity is intentional, its all business. If your battery lasts too long, you won't need to upgrade your phone every year and give them more $$$$. There's no technical reason why they can't fit a 5000mAh battery in the S22 if companies like Xiaomi were putting 5000mAh in their budget phones over 5 years ago.

aaronwt, 19 Feb 2022??? You have it opposite. Specs are better with the S21 and... moreI have 8gb ram now with my S10 and it works like crap on Android 12. I was thinking to update this year. I was thinking to buy S20 5g because is decent size and has great specs and S21 hass lower display and i was waiting for S22 , but after i see this specs S20 5G is clearly the best choice. 1440p 12gb ram . The battery take s me from day to night it is ok. S-series were never made for long battery. S6 did not last more than 5-6 hours and it was a good phone for that time.

Darknoor, 19 Feb 2022I tried this in the store and the camera was A TOTAL JOKE! ... moreSamsung's going in blind with a brand new main camera sensor, although the ultrawide and telephoto are familiar. In that case, maybe their initial software is not perfect, or you've just gotten really used to the IMX686 or GW1 sensor output that the Mi Note 10 Lite employs. (I'm not sure, but it's the logical sensor that Xiaomi would have used back.)
Whatever the reasoning, almost every 64MP sensor is the same. And all you need to do is avoid Samsung's flagships because they will continue to employ HM and GN sensors and their own processing for their main cameras. I have no doubt that a different sensor and ISP will suit your needs, given how ubiquitous the 64MP cams are. It also serves as a warning to potential S22 buyers: the main camera will potentially have processing and software bugs due to it being a brand new sensor.

I tried this in the store and the camera was A TOTAL JOKE! My Mi Note 10 Lite took better pictures!!!
The only decent pictures were with the 50mp full res, or if you use the telephoto x3. Normal compressed pictures were an era behind. With such high price and small battery with no charger, this is an absolute joke.

Anonymous, 18 Feb 2022Why would you ever choose S21 or S22 over S20 ? Except cpu ... more??? You have it opposite. Specs are better with the S21 and S22. Plus much better battery life, higher peak nit screen, faster SoC, no tethering port for ancient wired headphones etc. The only thing better with the S20 is the screen resolution (and an option for more RAM which makes no difference in my use of Android phones). Neither of which, for me, trumps the benefits of the new models You could not pay me to use an older phone like the s20. I would rather pay for a newer one any day, over being paid to use an older model.
I've owned an S6, S8, S10, and S21(and next week an S22). In my use, the S21 has easily been a better phone than any of the previous Galaxy S phones I have owned. And even if the S22 does nothing better but have a Faster SoC than the S21, then it will still have exceeded the excellent S21 as well.

Anonymous, 18 Feb 2022Why would you ever choose S21 or S22 over S20 ? Except cpu ... moreUmm, it's a logical choice if you were upgrading from a S20? I've had a vanilla S20 for 2 years with Exynos 990. The battery life is just, bad. I'm getting merely 3hrs of screen on time on 60Hz FHD mode. Now in my region we're getting a SD chip for once so the battery performance may be better? I agree the screen is better but in day to day use, I can't tell the difference. As far as ram goes, I can't as well, it's zippy enough. It's quite a logical choice if you're upgrading from a device S20 or earlier but from a S21, not so sure.
