Anonymous, 19 Feb 2022Google could fit 4000 battery in the 6.0" pixel 5, why... moreBecause they want you to spend more money and get the 22+ or Ultra. Low battery capacity is intentional, its all business. If your battery lasts too long, you won't need to upgrade your phone every year and give them more $$$$. There's no technical reason why they can't fit a 5000mAh battery in the S22 if companies like Xiaomi were putting 5000mAh in their budget phones over 5 years ago.

aaronwt, 19 Feb 2022??? You have it opposite. Specs are better with the S21 and... moreI have 8gb ram now with my S10 and it works like crap on Android 12. I was thinking to update this year. I was thinking to buy S20 5g because is decent size and has great specs and S21 hass lower display and i was waiting for S22 , but after i see this specs S20 5G is clearly the best choice. 1440p 12gb ram . The battery take s me from day to night it is ok. S-series were never made for long battery. S6 did not last more than 5-6 hours and it was a good phone for that time.

Darknoor, 19 Feb 2022I tried this in the store and the camera was A TOTAL JOKE! ... moreSamsung's going in blind with a brand new main camera sensor, although the ultrawide and telephoto are familiar. In that case, maybe their initial software is not perfect, or you've just gotten really used to the IMX686 or GW1 sensor output that the Mi Note 10 Lite employs. (I'm not sure, but it's the logical sensor that Xiaomi would have used back.)
Whatever the reasoning, almost every 64MP sensor is the same. And all you need to do is avoid Samsung's flagships because they will continue to employ HM and GN sensors and their own processing for their main cameras. I have no doubt that a different sensor and ISP will suit your needs, given how ubiquitous the 64MP cams are. It also serves as a warning to potential S22 buyers: the main camera will potentially have processing and software bugs due to it being a brand new sensor.

I tried this in the store and the camera was A TOTAL JOKE! My Mi Note 10 Lite took better pictures!!!
The only decent pictures were with the 50mp full res, or if you use the telephoto x3. Normal compressed pictures were an era behind. With such high price and small battery with no charger, this is an absolute joke.

Anonymous, 18 Feb 2022Why would you ever choose S21 or S22 over S20 ? Except cpu ... more??? You have it opposite. Specs are better with the S21 and S22. Plus much better battery life, higher peak nit screen, faster SoC, no tethering port for ancient wired headphones etc. The only thing better with the S20 is the screen resolution (and an option for more RAM which makes no difference in my use of Android phones). Neither of which, for me, trumps the benefits of the new models You could not pay me to use an older phone like the s20. I would rather pay for a newer one any day, over being paid to use an older model.
I've owned an S6, S8, S10, and S21(and next week an S22). In my use, the S21 has easily been a better phone than any of the previous Galaxy S phones I have owned. And even if the S22 does nothing better but have a Faster SoC than the S21, then it will still have exceeded the excellent S21 as well.

Anonymous, 18 Feb 2022Why would you ever choose S21 or S22 over S20 ? Except cpu ... moreUmm, it's a logical choice if you were upgrading from a S20? I've had a vanilla S20 for 2 years with Exynos 990. The battery life is just, bad. I'm getting merely 3hrs of screen on time on 60Hz FHD mode. Now in my region we're getting a SD chip for once so the battery performance may be better? I agree the screen is better but in day to day use, I can't tell the difference. As far as ram goes, I can't as well, it's zippy enough. It's quite a logical choice if you're upgrading from a device S20 or earlier but from a S21, not so sure.

Anonymous, 17 Feb 20223700mah battery in 2022 ? Really Samsung ?It's relatively compact. 3700 mAh is normal for this size. If you need a larger battery, get S22+ shovel. It's identical. Just larger for larger battery.

aaronwt, 16 Feb 2022Why is it slow with 8GB of RAM? My S21 with 8GB of RAM on A... moreWhy would you ever choose S21 or S22 over S20 ? Except cpu , everything is better in S20.
First of High quality display , 12gb ram vs 8gb ram.
I have android 12 with 8gb ram and it is slower than was with android 11.
But that is not case when you want to update your old phone doesn t mean that you whant someting better ? How can you say update when the specs are lower than the previos ? S21 and S22 are allmoust the same , s22 is more ok because of his size and newer cpu, but S20 is better than both. I had S21 in my hands i can feel the cheap display. If you had before s-series you don t whant someting weaker.

They could make a phone just a bit thicker but NO, Samsung wants to have slim phone like the IP13 & 13Pro and that is why we have S22 with thickness less than 8mm or to be precise less then 7.7mm. This is the only reason! With a 1/2mm more they could add approx. 300mAh or even more but NO!

- this years chips from qualcomm and samsung are made on the same shitty 4nm samsung process. they are HOT and inefficient;
- the s22 has a smaller battery than s21, 3700mah vs 4000mah. Looking at a disassembly video, it looks like samsung had a TON of space for battery, but they just, cut the prices, like they did with the missing charger and missing micro sd slot;
- the display is still not ltpo, that is, it cannot go down to 10hz, but only 48 hz. they initially said it is 10hz capable, but then retracted the spec because people have tested the actual phones.
