yes, in terms of camera quality and built materials, galaxy s8+ better than a51, here's explanation a51 built body plastic, s8 is metal and glass, it has ois support, more advanced camera modes compare here both

As I've said, that was the solution I found and I know and seen others that have changed the cable and it worked for them too. I've actually had to change the cable twice in 3 years.
As regards to cleaning the port, I used a combination of compressed air and a toothpick (gently) this sounds will perhaps sound weird but I chewed the end of a toothpick so it was wet and a a little bit softer at the tip and gently cleaned the connection within the port. Word of caution if you are going to use compressed air though, dont blast it at point blank range into the port as doing so could harm the Water resistance, hold it a bit of distance from.the port just enough to.blow out any dust or lint that is possibly preventing a good connection.
It's ok to use a hairdryer to.dry the port and the 'moisture in port's message may stay on for some time so.dont worry if that's the case. Just dont let the phone heat up too much as too much heat is never good for your phone. Put hairdryer on a lower heat setting and go in gently gently. A little bit of hairdryer and stop, repeat and repeat to it out.
I would be surprised if the cable didnt sort it out if the cleaning the port is not successful.

I love Samsung displays and would like to upgrade to the best screen possible and the only thing holding me back is the hole in the screen.
I so much wanted the latest Samsung flagships to drop it and find a solution that doesn't take anything away from the display as I like to play games, watch videos and play online poker on my phone and I've just got this thing in my head about the notch.
But yeah you are right, I should give it a try and try and keep an open mind and then judge. Thanks again :)

I moved from an s8 to an s10 and the only time I ever notice the punch hole is when I open my phone. Once the phone is powered up the punch hole just blends into the background and does not affect your view one bit.

I think when you are concentrating on what you are looking at you just see content and nothing else around it. If you get a chance try one in a shop but without consciously looking for a hole. scorpio, 11 Mar 2020I had an s8 and now have an a10. I can tell you in all hone... moreThanks Scorpio, appreciate your reply and I'm probably overreacting but it just seems like a step back for me to go from a beautiful full screen without holes or notches cut out of it to one with a hole or notch.
It's just a personal thing and admittedly I've become a bit obsessed about it and I suppose I'm digging my heels in further and further the more I think about it. A screen with something cut out of it is just completely weird to me. I'm one of those people that if I went out and bought an S10 for example I wouldn't be able to take my eyes of that little hole..... it would bug me.

I've had to replace my cable as I was getting the same issue and problem was solved.

Yes I want a full screen phone, I'm not complainng about a full screened phone. Quite the opposite of what you are saying! I love my S8 Plus with a sceen that is unhindered by a notch or punch hole right now and I'm completely happy with it.
Why is placing a notch or punch hole the "best thing they have ever done"?

I'm expressing a personal opinion. I dont want a little hole or notch on my screen, that's all.no need to.hate me! ....and if it was such a "great innovation" why does every TV or cinema have a punch hole or notch?
Punch holes and notches are with us because the technology is not ready to place the technology hidden under the screen! It's a compromise...
And from a personal point of view it's a compromise too far for me.

and that is why if i plan upgrading from my S8 Plus i'm moving to a phone without a punchhole like the Note 9 which is also a marvellous phone.
