Is this a better alternative to N95 when in comes to internet usage? Is it easy to text while driving? I mean just to answer urgent text messages?

setsuka, 13 Jun 2009Could anyone please reply me i'm tired waiting for omnia HD... moreomnia hd runs on symbian OSv5 so there's a big difference on the i900 omnia which runs on winmo6.1. just install spb mobile shell and you'll be surprised how good and thumbable your omnia will be. windows mobile pawns symbian any day. i still keep wondering why omnia hd steered away from windows. a very bad move for samsung imo. i think that's why they're trying to save face by bringing back winmo on omnia 2 and louvre(others claim that this is the omnia pro).

If you ask me about battery life, I would say that its great. Upgrading from firmware DXHH3 to the latest DXIA5 from the Asia Samsung website really gave a lot of improvement as to battery life.. I'm enjoying my wifi use, even using Skype for voice calls and Fring for chat. Now, my only problem is to find the best case protector for this investment. Would you recommend Capdase Silicone Case with Hard Screen protect for this? I find the bifold leather case bothersome because its bulky already when folded open..

Obviously, this phone is good. There are a few people here and there who don't like it. SO WHAT?
Alot more people like it then dont, and GSMarena + phonearena said that this is a great phone. I dont know about you but I think its usually pretty good to trust an EXPERTs review. Dont you think?

Had the Omnia since December and it is great. I have an MP3 player, a decent camera and a phone in the same package! Plus with a little tweeking, GPS.

Samsung's additions to windows mobile are nice, too. If I had to complain the phone is a bit sluggish. Patience is a virtue though, right?

This phone rocks when used with SPB mobile shell 3.0, as a windows mobile interface overlay. Without it, I found it difficult to deal with. The shipped widget setup is terrible. Add SPB mobile shell 3.0, and you are getting as close to the iphone interace as you will get on windows mobile. It has actually been more reliable and enjoyable than the htc touch devices I have used, though I still like to have a physical keyboard. The camera in this phone is one of the best on a mobile phone device. This techie recommends this phone!

In my opinion no this phone is over priced and under performs in terms of a phone which is one of the aspects of its design. The battery life is pathetic and yet it is supposed to handle various applications. Becuareful you don't find yourself lost because you used the GPS and the bettery died and now you can not even make a phone call and all this can happen with an hour or two. The volume is very low when playing music and the when the phone rings. I do not think that saying you need to be smart to use this phone is a good excuse, as thats got nothing to do with its terrible battery life. This is the only item i ever regret purchasing. Those who have this phone have good things to say about it becuase they want to make themselves feel better but they even know its a bad chouce in a phone as in my opinion. ( South Africa )

My most recent message to Samsung's help line on my trouble with the Today2 widget:
                                    Hi Lee,
It seems that in the operating software of the Omnia, I suspect that this is in the firmware, the finger mouse has priority one. This results that the phone responds immediately to a finger mouse input regardless what other processes are running in the back ground. When its really busy doing something else, it will at least bring the busy thingy on the screen indicating that it acknowledge the command and will respond as soon as processor power is available.
Screen taps however, has a much lower priority, so when pressing on the screen, the phone disregards the command and first finishes whatever it trying to do before responding to that command.
                                    THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!
