Anonymous, 20 Aug 2008Orange are apparently the only UK network to be offering th... moreSometimes you just wonder how these companies plan on bringing in their customers, Tmobile UK is the biggest or second biggest mobile phone company in the uk, dont know which,but why they couldnt get this phone i will never know, really want this phone to be available from them, orange is really not value for money at all on all sides but atleast theyre offering the 16gb and not the 8gb, bad business decision by samsung!

Next week Vodafone (& O2?) are offering the 8GB, which is a bit rubbish but there we go. The memory card slot does apparently take a 16GB card however:-

        I'm in the same situation - want a 16GB phone but not with an Orange deal!

            Anonymous, 19 Aug 2008I went to orange, phone 4 u, and the carphone warehouse tod... moreHi Rang up ORange today as I am in Month 15 of my orange contract, and i asked if they had the 16gig Omnia in stock, and whether I am eligable for an upgrade. I was told by the lady / girl on the other side of the phone they have got it stock & I can have the upgrade, I also wanted to change my tariff and bring it down from £40 a month. I was offered a £25 tariff (500 mins and 100 texts) and the phone for £49.99. That tariff is more than sufficient for me so I have done that and should be getting the phone tomorrow (Wednesday). I also asked her to confirm whether it was definatly the 16gig, this is what she told me, We have currently been told that we only have the 16 gigs in as there is a greater demand for the 16 gig rather then the 8 gig at the moment and that they shall be be getting the 8gig but at a later date. So heres fingers and toes and anything else crossed. She also did say that she sent one out to a customer 2 days ago and that they have recieved it and confirmed that they had a 16 gig.

                I went to orange, phone 4 u, and the carphone warehouse today to see if they had this phone in stock, and guess what ? They have! but the only downside, this mobile phone is available on orange only and i must say that their tariffs aren't really good but if you go for the £35 plan, the guys told me it would be £100 but if you get the £40 plan, its only £50, now if its only available to orange which in my opinion, does not offer value for money on the contracts, then they're going to lose out on so many customers ! if this phone came on Tmobile UK that would be so good! does anyone know if this will actually happen? ive been due for an upgrade for two months now on tmobile and have been waiting for this phone patiently but now i find that its only available on orange?? can anyone help on this matter?

                  In reply, i will say the launchdate in the UK is this month August and
                  it has been already released by Orange network and on sale by Orange.

                  We do not sell our phones directly, only via the various networks and
                  that is why we refer our customers to them.

                  Eventually, Vodafone and 02 networks will follow suit and put them out
                  for sale..

                      It appeared for a day or so instore and online at CPW (UK) and their subsiduary online company 'e2save' on O2 only, but then O2 asked them to pull it (not sure why -I guess further testing, a marketing campain or decision whether to actually release, possibly due to the conflict it may cause with iPhone). It's still available SIM free but at £449.99 and they're not sure if/when it will be available on a network. Phones4U have it on their website (not sure about instore as I didn't get chance to visit today) but it's only available on Orange. The Orange Shop I stopped by at had a plastic dummy model on display and I think it's free on £35 and above tarrifs. O2's website and operators have no information to give at present, but say it usually takes around a month from their staff knowing about a handset to it actually becoming available to buy. This is frustrating the life outta me like many others, but I think with such a complex device, O2 (and others) want to make sure there are no bugs (that and for O2 to put on their damn blue bubble theme) -I'm sure it's gonna be worth the wait...proviing it's not gonna cost on contract!

                          Via http://nl.samsungmobile.com/ you can (pre) order the Omnia and win an Xbox or a 8 GB micro SD card. The first 100 will get the Xbox, next 500 will get the card. This only hold for an Omnia millionaire pack, which contains a 16 GB version, leather case and some other stuff (bla bla).
                          The Samsung Omnia Millionaire Pack will only be sold via official dealers. Promotion is from 19 August till 15 September 2008(closing date). Ordering closes on 31 August.

                            Lance, 19 Aug 2008about divX,i think u need to get DivX converter and convert... moreyou can put any movie you downloaded without converting to mobile. just download, put it in the phone and watch. till now only *.rmvb dont work.
                            the rest work fine.

                                    Dear Mihai,

                                    Last weekend I went to Vodafone and were talking about week 34. Telfort was talking about the 18th. Yesterday I called Media markt Rotterdam Centrum and asked whether the Omnia has become available? No was their answer. They have a back order four pieces, but could not tell when it will become available.
                                    On Samsung's site they write that the Omnia will be introduced on the Millionaire faire that will be held from 29 - 31 August. So maybe we have to wait till 1 September (?)

                                      JUST SENT THIS TO SAMSUNG UK WILL POST ANY REPLY:

                                      Are you aware of the anti-Samsung feeling that is being generated by the networks on your behalf? The Omnia is released in other markets but not the UK and constantly the networks are giving out contrary and variable advice as to when your product can be obtained. People are now switching loyalties, in utter frustration
                                      Can you comment on availability?
                                      Can you say if both the 8 & 16 MB version will come to the UK.
                                      Seems such a shame that what looks like a great product is getting off to such a negative start
