Meesh, 27 Jun 2008what is the difference between GPS and the A GPS?well... basically GPS uses satelites from space to pin point your location. While AGPS uses your phone providers signal to locate your position. Which means its less accurate and if your phone doesnt have network, it doesnt work. GPS on the other hand works anywhere, however, it usually doesnt work indoors and places with high buildings which basically blocks the signal. So its kinda of a give and take thing between the two.

Meesh, 27 Jun 2008what is the difference between GPS and the A GPS?An A-GPS receiver can address these problems in several ways, using an Assistance Server:
The Assistance Server can locate the phone roughly by what cell site it is connected to on the cellular network.
The Assistance Server has a good satellite signal, and lots of computation power, so it can compare fragmentary signals relayed to it by cell phones, with the satellite signal it receives directly, and then inform the cell phone or emergency services of the cell phone's position.
It can supply orbital data for the GPS satellites to the cell phone, enabling the cell phone to lock to the satellites when it otherwise could not, and autonomously calculate its position.
By having accurate, surveyed coordinates for the cell site towers, it can have better knowledge of ionospheric conditions and other errors affecting the GPS signal than the cell phone alone, enabling more precise calculation of position. (See also Wide Area Augmentation System)
Some A-GPS solutions require an active connection to a cell phone (or other data) network to function, in others[2][3] it simply makes positioning faster and more accurate, but is not required.
As an additional benefit, it can reduce both the amount of CPU and programming required for a GPS Phone by offloading most of the work onto the assistance server. (This is not a large amount for a basic GPS – many early GPSs utilized Intel 80386-class 16MHz CPUs or similar hardware.)

Ins-omnia, 29 Jun 2008Why is it that so many people come on here and ask the same... moreDear Ins-omnia,
Is this the way you are "speaking" to others? Not really polite is my personal opinion, sorry to say.
Maybe persons should read better, but then you can ask then more friendly to do so.
Kind regards, Jason

Why is it that so many people come on here and ask the same damn questions that have been answered multiple times before? For gods sake, please read the thread before posting your questions. Plus some of you are really bad and you ask things that GSM Arena already have posted in the specifications section. Please, I don't want to read anymore of your rubbish, look at the thread, then ask your questions!!
PS. No phone is everything to everyone, this one does what it does and it does it well. STOP COMPLAINING!!

Not only that but they are also saying that it takes up to the 32 gb cards, iv emailed them to see what they say but i think if this was the case it would be bigger news, since the N96 is only doing 16gb internal im sure more poeple would be talking about it if it had the combined capacity of 48Gb
16gb internal + 32gb external.

Good news/Rumor is that the i900 will be sold for 650 USD initially.
I assume the price will drop - as always.
So it will be affordable soon for large number of people.
The performance of the phone probably fine. I miss a good flash and better video capability - but I think it is good enough to be seriously considered. We will see there are any bugs or reliability issues - I hope none.
In the US ATT will offer this phone in September for the starting price 299 USD (with contract) Which also comes down as other companies release their phone.
