I think bada 2.0 will be realesed at Q2; It is the time expected for the sales decrease of wave 3.
and time expected to end all app store offers also!.

if no bada 2.0 before 31 December ,i will sell my phone and i will go for apple or sony,no more samsung.

plz guys i am really sick and tired of bada.. plz make a different petition

1.either make bada opensource so that atleast we can improve bada on our own if samsung cant...:-@

2. or if you cannot provide timely updates for bada then provide us the updates that you are good at..means scrap bada and port us to android. so that we could also enjoy frequent improvements in the os.

i recently encounterd a problem with my wave i tried streaming and its say memory full ,what should i do to rectify the problem PS: i have space availible ,i have deleted apps,pics ,vids,please help

When is the Bada 2.0 coming.......

Ohhhh, I wount be asking taht question anymore. Am back to android after using 8500 for 11 months, and I love it.

Never ever again will I buy any Samsung phone......

Samsung Wave S8500 (Wave I) and Wave II owners have been eagerly waiting for the bada 2.0 update. Earlier, Samsung's official twitter account mentioned that the bada 2 update will be released in November 2011. Then the date was postponed to December and now the latest update says that the firmware will be released in the Q1 of 2012. So bada 2 isn't coming to your wave anytime soon. The most likely date for the global release of the next firmware of Samsung's proprietary mobile operating system is expected in February.

This surely isn't a great news for the Wave fanboys. The next software update promises lot of new exciting features including the NFC capabilities and much awaited 'Chat On' feature that the company showcased at a press event few weeks ago. The update will be released through Kies software. Make sure that you keep your kies updated to the latest version so that you get the notification as soon as the firmware is leaked. In the mean time, the firmware is available for the rooted wave devices. However, it's informed that if you aren't familiar with rooting your phones, avoid installing the leaked firmware. It might just render your device useless. Why not just wait for the official release through Kies. If someone gets any update from the customer care, please keep us informed.

Hi people!

Well, the limit for my patience has been reached.
My Wave with Bada 1.2 is letting me down.
Every second time I take it out of my pocket it has restarted and I need to enter PIN-code.
Have been holding out... invane for the 2.0 update that never shows.
Tell U this much... wont bee a Samsung this time!

Samsung's twisted tongue
In april it says, 2.0 rollout will begin in july with s8530 getting it first
In june, it retracts. Says no 2.0, but 2.0.1 in q3. Wave1/2 will get it in october. Others in nov/dec.
In sept it says, all waves will get the update.
Agn 2 months later, in dec, it says two models wont get the full update but a lollypop. I mean value-pack bla bla.
Now samsung turkey says, update will come in q1 2012.
.
Why so much fuss? Tell us straight, we will be getting bada sth 8.06 in 2025 .Aise hai q

For almost one month I am coming every day to gsmarena hoppin to see that baba 2 has been released, and every day big disappoitment. First was sept, than octo, then novem, than decem and now I am reading it will be Q1 of next year. Big shame for Samsung corporation. Samsung Wave is secong phone by rate and they treat as, users of Wave like we are suckers. Tnx for that Samsung. I hope you are reading this post.

I will like to see some survey like retention rate amongst bada/wave users. I wud b damn surprised if existing wave users planning to get a newer wave touches even two digit, ie 10%. A gud fraction of the remaining 90 will say, forget bada/mobile, wont buy any samsung product ever, be it tv/etc. Update delays have irritated us to all extremes. ***k samsung

If they say q1, it means 32nd march to be earliest.

There you have it all you wave users dont buy samsung period.They do not worry about customer satisfaction i would rather deal with a company that is after sales effiicient .So much for the 1 million wave users ALL LOSERS myself included.NEVER again am i buying a samsung product

OK,this is the last Christmas 'gift' we Wavers expected from Samsung.Just when I was sure my wave would enjoy Christmas with bada 2.0 suit,seems Samsung is not in a hurry to delight bada users. Samsung posted on its Turkish Facebook page:https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=329634520398280&set=a.156478071047260.33340.135448153150252&type=1 that bada 2.0 is now coming in 2012, no month or day was specified, but Dec 31,2012 is still in 2012! Personally I don't want this bad news to raise my adrenaline levels because Samsung is turning out to be so annoying.Samsung, never ever release bada 2.0, just let it remain in oblivion and shut your gobs about its release or existence. Just focus on the Galaxy phones, after all that's what matters to you!We are tired of your melodrama! PERIOD!

Samsung and update to Bada 2.0
Lots of people complained about updating their Wave and Wave2 devices to Bada 2.0
In general it just takes too long for the official updates to roll out.
The convenient question arrises immediately : Why ?
For us its relatively simple. Bada 2.0 for Europe has been finished some time ago.
As most of you may know we released updates steadily. Unfortunately still there are no “official” updates.
Samsung now announced to start the roll out of bada 2.0 updates Q1 of 2012 for wave devices and more.
This is almost a year after the announcement of Bada 2.0 !
But what can we actually believe in all this? Is Samsung this slow or are these just good sales tactics?
According to one of our “insiders” the roll out of Bada 2.0 shouldve started Q3/Q4 2011.
Not bad looking at all the leaked ROMs we offer allready.
Unfortunately this also proved to be not reliable information.
When we asked Samsung Benelux for clarification they stated it to be planned for November.
Now that the year has almost passed its more likely to hit Q1 2012…
Samsung will provide Bada 2.0 exclusively 2/3 months for Wave3, WaveM and WaveY.
This will be good for Samsung sales, in a store youll probably decide to buy a bada 2.0 device then one running older software.
Also Samsung will slowly stop producing the older Wave devices.
So the long waiting can be good for commercial reasons but not for the true Bada users.
Something which Apple and Google take on from a whole different approach.
Unfortunately both companies are legends in software bussiness and Samsung is just not there yet.
When will Bada 2.0 arrive in your oppinion?
Looking back at all expectation and info leaks we think its safe to say it will arrive Q1 2012.
And yes thats almost a full year after the announcement.
Samsung states Bada 2.0 will roll out for the following devices:
Wave, Wave II, Wave 723 ,Wave 578 and Wave 575.

maybe samsung can do us a favor and develop android os to wave series.

Good article,
As a “Wave I” user (from the very begining) I waited patiently and tried to understand Samsung, but the honest truth is that they failed. Another sad truth is that more and more users are going to drop their wave’s for android or wp.
Samsung seems to fail to understand its users and focuses only on market and selling devices without taking care of them after.
I saw a movie yerstarday and one character said that “Without loyalty you’re nothing! Nothing! We appreciate a man over his word rather than his skills, because without the word you cannot trust him in delivering the skills”. Well put that to Samsung, we were loyal for the bada 1.0 software, we helped it expand, but when Samsung didn’t respect its own word than you cannot appreciate them anymore, no more loyalty for Samsung, and by no more loyalty it means Samsung because nothing! Nothing without its customers.

Oh my God….. That’s terrible news, Samsung seems really sucky after all. It’s clear by your sayings that they need new software managers, and quickly, before more users realize that and Samsung loses its credibility with Bada.
Bada is such a good OS, I really hate it being pushed back by stupid and poorly educated Samsung managers.
PS. Business unfortunately always puts “collars” on technology and designers, never leaving them to freely develop the science to its full potential. That’s a fact, and it’s going to be frowned upon by future generations.

I’m afraid Samsung will dump Bada to trash in the near future. They are secretly in the development of Meee-gooo. Search and find.
2012 Q1 can easily be Q4….I lost my interest in Bada 2….

Samsung doing bit wrong. They had a chance to learn from Google, Apple and Nokia how they treat with their customers. But pushing people to wait for a year it’s a way to much.
I put my Wave on a shelf about two month ago. And you know, I didn’t miss it at all. Symbian Belle does job just excellent.

I have been loyal to Samsung products for almost 10 years. But now I’m feeling like someone is betraying me, laughing at me.
We are looking for the future and so we must to be sure about our choices. Unfortunatelly i did mine wrong. No more Bada Phones to me. That’s the truth!

Hi guys,
Lets focus on Android OS for Wave. With android we can put at least some nice apps on the phone. I’m tired of waiting for Bada 2.0. After the Q1/2012 when they come up with Bada 2.0 we have wait another year again before changes will take place.

Hi, i am using Wave(S8500) for more than 1year, with the recent 1.2 DDKH1 update, there has been some problems. From the very next day of upgrade, the phone got switched off automatically but that stopped after few days, but since 4-5 days, its again the same, it gets switched off every now & then, when i lock it & then unlock it after some time, it just dont operate, and then it appears that its already switched off. It has happen many times & now i am irritated, also after i switch it on again, the battery either fully discharged or is decreased to one bar, after some time it increases automatically without charging.
Guys, is this a software problem or Hardware, please let me know & help me.
This is urgent...
