The ZV10 is GREAT, it fits 62 mp3 songs, you can compact them in the samsung pc studio 3, almost all of the mp3 songs go to 800kb, and videos as well. The camara image compares to 1.3mp, is gest great, you can put pictures up to the resolution of 1280 x 960, and to make videos is also very easy. The only thing that im abset is that here in Brazil i cant do videocalls, cause we dont have 3G in every state here. But still is a great phone!

The Samsung ZV10 phone is really a great phone. Many of the problems of the users like battery life or cobertry are due to corrupt parameters in older software versions. It can be solved just updating the mobile's software (flashing it, it have to be done by Vodafone in warranty)...
About battery life, I have to say that few of the many users follows the manufacturer instructions about the battery usage, the load cycle time or whatever...Anyway it can be better just flashing it.

Answer to Stephen,
I have the Z140 phone, I think the software is very similar to this, you might be able to convert small pieces of mp3 to mmf format and they are accepted as text msg tones.
In the phone profile menu (with options like normal, silent meeting etc) there may be an option called "special tone" when you select Message alert tone, if its there then you can edit the special tone to be an mmf, and use small clips for txt tones.
Ive had a quick peek at the manual, and it looks like you do have this functionality.
A quick google for software to convert mp3 into mmf should find you some guides/software.
I use mp3 to ringtone gold to convert, You do have to buy it tho.

I got my zv10 couple of days back. First impression - excellent phone for the price. I could quickly navigate through all the features and customised completly within couple of hours. Great sound and display quality. I am fine with the photo quality as it serves the purpose.
Downside is the battery life like almost everyone has been screeming on this message board.
Apart from that I find this mobile very stylish and full of useful functionality. Some people who are used to other company mobile might find the navigation bit hard, but it is just the question of habit. Play with this mobile for few minutes and you will quickly get familiarise with the features.

I don't know if the phone's battery life should be like this, if I am lucky the battery will last me a day if I hardly make calls, if I recieve calls it will last me at most 4hrs. I had a nokia 6600 that lasted me nearly a full week in battery life, can this phones battery really be this bad or is my phone faulty. It is only a week old, please can someone help!!!!!

The Samsung ZV10 is an excellent phone with 3rd generation features, the Samsung ZV10 has a nice digital camera that unfortunatly you cannot zoom in or out in normal full mode but zoom capable in optional modes availible on your camera menu, Also Im not sure if you may know this, But, the Samsung ZV10 is able to used as a dial up modem via a USB cable, it is convenient when you need to check your emails provided that the USB cable and a lap top is availible, also note that the dial up connection needs to be set up by installing software from a Disc that is provided when purchasing this phone, I hope this information is helpful. Thanks

My wife has not long bought a Motorola E770. Like the ZV10 it is a 3G phone, but that doesn't suffer the bad battery life that Samsung has. She can have it in standby ages (many days) before it needs re-charging. Not only that when her phone is in standby the screen is very dimly lit but enough to see the digits and the time on the LCD display.
I do like my ZV10 better but I would like the battery standby time and the dim lit display light that she has on her phone when mine is in standby so that you could see the clock on the outer LCD display without having to open up the phone to activate the display backlighting. - Samsung should have done it as an option in the phone's setup area if you wanted the phone lit dimly in standby. Mind you the battery power is wicked on the zv10 and if they did give you that option then it would be even worse I suppose!!
Andy.

Great News the live update in my PC studio software has started working (the CD that came with the phone) as I have been trying the live update since I bought the phone and it was saying unable to connect to the live update server or something.
My bad news is that Broadband is not available to me at present where I live and I have a slow 56k Dial-up connection for the Internet and the updates to be downloaded amount to 16MB! (sad) - not to worry I am still going to download some time and see what extra features there are.
