Siemens SX1 - User opinions and reviews

Great phone, but i had loads of problems in the first week kept crashing and could not switch it on with memory card inserted. Then it corrupted and lost all data on card. Bought new memory card and all is ok. Still not happy with battery life its to short i need to recharge every day and a half. Firmware needs development even version 14.
My advise is get rid of the memory card sent with phone!

It's great! BTW, Firmware 13 is provided only by svc centers.Last official firmware is 12 (for the time being..).Could use a lot of improvement..That's what siemens says will do with firmware 14.and that is the main reason they are delaying so much in making it public (or so they say..)

Does any one know how can i completely move my mailbox(msgs,mms,mail) to mmc! I want to receive my messages to mmc in order to accept files biger than my phone memory!

Hey I got a black SX1 a week ago.

Works great, is fast, full of features, great night-mode, okay (but still one of the best) video mode, etc etc etc...

Funny thing is, i got hella drunk 2 days ago (was my birthday party), so I accidentally sat on the phone too often i guess (phone always in my back pocket). Next morning, realized that ALL data (except for those in my mem card) got wiped out. EVERYTHING, including settings, display & sound settings, pictures, sounds, notes, alarms, even phone numbers and also GPRS/MMS settings! But like I said, those in the MMC were okay and undisturbed.

The phone doesn't have a clue of damage (even after a crazy night) nor did it get wet. How did this happen?!?

Secondly, yeah I have the black one, with SVN 14. I am just very disgruntled about the sound on this phone. It's sound system SUCKS and the speaker is loud enough for an ant to be satisfied, but not me! How do I upgrade the loudness of this phone's speaker? Is it possible? What about upgrading it's soundcard? Is this at all possible? THanks all!

I recently bought an SX1, and it was the first and last Siemens phone I'll ever buy.

The battery life with light usage was barely a day, despite the claims of Siemens. Moreover, the phone crashed at least once every day or two during the first week.

I upgraded to the latest software, but that didn't stop the crashing problems. Instead, within a couple of days of upgrading, it started spontaneously shutting down after a few minutes of use. Sometimes I was lucky, and it would work for a few hours, but it usually died right away.

I took it to a repair shop, who said it was a software problem, but I wanted it to be repaired by Siemens, so I sent it back to them. After waiting two weeks, Siemens refused to fix it and sent it back.

I've mostly owned Nokias before, and have never had a single one fail ever, even with rough usage. I was very careful with this Siemens phone, and yet it failed within two weeks. Maybe I just got a lemon, but it's enough to put me off Siemens for life.

The Firmware13/14 are only available in siemens service centers as the firmware changes are too great(files too big to be placed on net to D/L)however i am too lazy to make my way to the service centers so i don't know the difference actually! sorry
