In reply to the post about case cracking.
It seems to happen to devices made in or around weeks 44 to 46.
To check which week your phone was built,check in the battery compartment.
You should see a number that looks something like this: (08W44) this means week 44.
My handset says 08W56, so that means mine was made during week 56.

Firstly it's not 3.5mp, it's a 3.2mp. And what is it exactly you're trying to say? I'm a little confused :-)
And one thing about this mad rush on megapixels - Do people really know why 5mp is better than 3mp, or why 24mp is better than 8mp?
If someone hasn't tried it yet, go try it. Take the same picture in different resolutions (on the same camera/phone) from around 2mp to whatever highest resolution you can go (24mp on the latest DSLR or 8mp on some mobiles). Then check the pictures on your computer screen or print them out on a 6x4 card (which is the size most people would print on). Would you see the difference?
Well, if it's a lot of work to do, lemme just give you the simple answer - NO. You wont be able to see any difference. Most people I know just think that a camera is good because it's got higher resolution than the other one (forgetting other more crucial things like shutter lag, focusing speed and accuracy, and low-light sensitivity). But unless you wanna crop your picture tight, or print it in really big size, it really makes no difference what resolution you use to shoot your pictures.
I know this is not the right forum for a photography lesson. But still thought I'll let everyone know 'coz most mobile phones today have a camera.
BTW, I'm not critisizing the X1 at all (if someone had any doubts). I have had my X1 for a couple of weeks, and though it's not exactly perfect, it's a pretty decent piece of kit - and certainly one of the best mobiles out there today.

i just got my xperia today. i can say that xperia is nice phone but i don't like the arrangement, its so confusing, you still have to search for it. that's what i don't like a little of xperia. but i like it, though!! ^_^! I like the features, the camera is very clear even though it is only 3.5mp but still it's like higher than 3.5mp because of its high resolution. that's all i can say. thank you! have fun

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2009Yes, :) Windows Mobile so great that: ˝AT&T to ditc... moremhm people are impressed by i phone interface and others lik samsung touch wiz but guess wat my old winmo phone keeps going my internet has flash even on our restricted work net i can acces any site it texts and has tones of free apps im not impressed with tilting games and flashy icons it should do the job. iphone doesnt stop complaining n learn how to use winmo sorry for going on

I really want to know anyone is experiencing case crack, overheating battery. There are lots of copied opinions from others. With reception problems, anyone can compare x1 with other phones?

Loudspeaker for calls is painfully low (on par with the original i-phone 2G. The loudspeaker's volume for playing mp3 and media can be of a much higher volume (albeit a little tinny).
Ear piece volume during calls is good.

well, after waiting almost a year for this phone to come out and then finding out that it retails at $800, i went out and bought an apple iphone 3g and personally, it's perfect.
a phone, the internet(no flash yet though), online games, music, movies, big screen, plus it has lots of nice features that im still finding out. i've had it for almost a mounth and id say that for the price, this is probley the best phone out there as far as an entertainment phone goes. im no bussiness man.

Does X1 have a noise cancellation system? Is it functioning like Crystal Talk of Motorola?
Your opinion helps me a lot in considering X1. But I am a little confused when you mentioned that this is a fantastic phone but signal reception and battery life bad.
Comparing to BlackBerrry Storm 9500,do you think X1 is better in operation performance( Voice quality, internet and etc)?
Why did you buy X1 in Thailand? Are you Thai? I think mobile phone is very expensive there.
