Anonymous, 08 Dec 2008US-friendly Sony Ericsson Xperia X1a delayed until January ... moreI have had the North American X1A Silver for 2 weeks now. I ordered it on 11/23/08 from sonystyle.com. It was delivered on 11/25/08. In that time I have installed TouchFlo 3D, several 3gp movies, all of my music and playlists, mp3 ringtones, Namco's Dig Dug classic arcade game, and too many other things to list.
I live in St. Louis, Mo. and the call quality is second to none. In one store where i couldn't receive ANY calls on my last phone (SE P990, i now have two bars. I have 4 bars in all other areas. The wi-fi works beautifully, it synced perfectly with my Motorola s9 BT headset also. The speaker is very loud for certain ringtones and music. 3GP movies look great on the screen also. My only complaint is that I thought the panels could be kept on the screen and they can't. They revert back to the last screen you were on after 2 minutes. If you like being able to customize your phone to an unheard of degree, this is for you. If you have any questions, let me know.

    Anonymous, 01 Jan 19708000 comments? Wow! :)

I guess 4000 written by disappointed users and another 4000 written by SE fans, reps saying ´SE rules´ :))

I bet there will be tons of refurbished X1 in a few weeks.
It will be around 300 USD
(since the price is 750 USD now, another 2-3 week and the price (NEW unlocked) will be 600 USD)

The problem I just had enough of X1 and I would not take it for free.

It is already offered for FREE with contract - very reasonable contract. People still do not take it.
    (or take it back)

US-friendly Sony Ericsson Xperia X1a delayed until January 2009?

Our previous report about the North American Sony Ericsson Xperia X1a said that the handset should reach the US this month. On December 7, more exactly.

Well, it’s now December 8 and the X1a is still not available for the US customers. Also, Best Buy doesn’t accept pre-orders for the handset anymore, while Sony’s US official online shop lists it as coming on January 12, 2009.

So it looks like there won’t be any Xperia X1a smartphones this Christmas for its fans over in the US.

As for the customers who managed to pore-order the handset from Best Buy (for $799.99), it’s said that they’re receiving emails informing them about stock delays.

We don’t know if all this is Sony Ericsson’s fault or not, but we do hope the X1a will reach North American shores as soon as possible.

and unfortunately I am not alone:

˝First day of real use in London has shown the reception to be very poor - on the train into London it dropped out most of the way (My S620 always has a good signal, my Athena usually an H but at least a G or E). Now in London the number of bars is 1 - 2 most of the time and the data reception for a download / web page very slow. ˝

I am glad that some people are so satisfied with the X1 - honestly. At least a few , even if they are SE staff (?) do not matter :)
What is important that you did not waist your money like many of us did! :(

But, another good news is that SE X1 is given away for FREE with contract - anybody can try it and have a chance to be so happy like you or....... :))))

˝It is pretty shocking to me that the iPhone/Mac OS X operating system sales are greater than Windows Mobile given that there are so many different Windows Mobile devices and only two models of iPhones. Windows Mobile has also been around for quite some time. It looks like usability may be winning out over functionality and specifications.˝

Jenazz complained about how bad this forum was,,so Adiel,,SEX1,,etc just cruise past mstl posts and carry on as normal..I am looking thru other fone forums because mstl has done this before a few years back but cannot find which fone he continuously tortured non stop..And mstl has two addresses cause ive caught him out,,will provide evidence later..

On topic again i have found so many apps now and testing them bit by bit as i now have my xperia working at last,,nearly two rudy weeks spoilt by a symbiam app and RM video causing the probs on 16gb card,,so i can say 16gb card does work fine,,i am so sorry that i said it might not be suitable..Now i stick the card in and wma player scans and updates perfectly in couple of minutes..

The s/e player now updates fast and is working faster so my big tip of the week is if your transferring a card from another fone buy a new card of scour what your puting back onto the card for any private,,hidden or incompatibl symbian appss, media or coding..

Yes its tricky using one handed but to fone is simple press green but no chance email or sms but i could not care less this fone is so damn good..

My other tip is give it a chance and go like mad with it in the 14 days and leave it up too last minute before returning,,other people will have better look than stupid me by getting the card correct in the first place..

the phone is crap, I had one for 48 hours and took it back to the shop and held out till the G1 "even with its sort comings" to come out, It's just another winmo and the panel thing is a gimmick, the images shown on the panels don't even show the live data only good thing about this is the build and style

"Sony Ericsson makes a big deal about the Xperia X1 being an all-in one device for both work and play,
so it's no surprise there are a number of multimedia goodies.
The X1's media interface is built to resemble Sony's other consumer electronics,
including the PlayStation, the PSP, and the Bravia TV line,
so it may look familiar to any owners of those products.
                              The media player supports MP3, MP4, M4A, AAC(+),
WMA, WAV, MIDI, MPEG-4, WMV and other music and video formats.
Other goodies include podcast support, a streaming media player, and an FM radio,
though you have to use the included headset for the latter.
The X1 has about 400MB of onboard memory,
and the expansion slot can accept up to 16GB cards."

                                    Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Ooooo man..!!
Now I really really got to think twice before buying this phone..!!

I really need all the feature though and yet no other phone can provide the feature better than XPERIA..

The only one i know who can get even with XPERIA is HTC Touch PRO, but HTC touch PRO is so fat and the resolution is lower than XPERIA..

I think if XPERIA are having these much problem, i have no other choice then to buy HTC Touch PRO..
