janazz, 07 Dec 2008I feel realy disappointed with this forum, it seems like a ... moreTheir is a lot of jealous people in here janazz who cannot stand the xperia and are determined to lie..T o me its no slower or faster than symbian and if you try to open windows media player on a computer then shut it down go on internet explorer its takes a fully fledged computer some time i think the xperia reflects that..IT has taken me a good while to get to grips with it after symbian for 5 years but if you have had tytan 11 you will get to grips with it faster..Battery will increase and you will get to treat each panel as a seperate option..
To person with card trouble,,had no probs with 4gb or 8gb but do with 16gb which is resolved as of today sunday..Whilst i took off all my data from wen in n82 formatted it and putting stuff back onto it to go in xperia their were private and other folders finding their way back onto card causing crashing and stalling when simply updating wma player..Could not understand what was happening until i scoured the data i was putting on 16gb card to put in xperia it had allsorts of symbian only apps plus software well hidden on card..Hopefull the 16gb card will be ok now..

Had one about a week now and once used to the navigation around the phone my opinion is the phone is great.
Cant believe people talk so much crap on here but for the serious person i would recommend based on my experience.
The Li-po battery is amazing, i had 3 days from a full charge, had numerous 40 min phone calls plus working my way around the phone spent hours on it. Not played music yet so not sure batt life for that.
Keyboard easy to use, stylus easy just a cracking PDA phone everything.......
Only bad thing i have found is the micro sd card from my nokia does not seem to work in the X1 for some reason?? if anyone can help?? works fine back in the 6300, puzzled.

Just don't understand why you people always compare Winmo & Symbian. Winmo's diehards will bash Symbian & vice versa. Let me tell you this: I had used Winmo & Symbian OS. Personally Symbian is still more user-friendly than Winmo. The best solution is to have both of them. Use the Symbian as you 1st phone & the Winmo as your 2nd phone. In this way you have the best of both world so to speak.

i like x1 but im dissapointed a little bit when i saw it in an SE store, and tried browsing it as its a little slow and not as elegant as i thought it is before when i watched demos and videos about it.
but its in my top 3 phone choice today. 8 months ago i thought of buying if its released and its my first choice. but now its slides down to my 3rd choice as i chosses the great iphone 3G as my first choice and the second is htc touch diamond over x1 as my third.
but no way in hell i am gonna choose the n97 over x1.
n97 is a big joke compared to my top 3 choices.
x1 is better over this soon n97, another boring nokia symbian phone.

I love mobile phones, I'd rather spend money on a phone then buyting a jewellery or an expensive handbag....i find myself changing mobiles every 6months....if Win Mobile come to an end then mayb that will be the time where my mobile will stay with me longer....sorry symbian, but for now I rather stick with WM.....I would have serouisly considered the N97 if it was WM.but X1 for now is my favorite mobile and i just can't wait to get my hands on it.

janazz, 07 Dec 2008I feel realy disappointed with this forum, it seems like a ... moreWell, there are some people here who ´angry´ :) and nasty etc.
but you can leave your post do not worry about them :))
As far as Symbian :)
I have a bad news for you (or two):
˝AT&T to ditch WinMo over Symbian, iPhone may stay!˝
and in that case Symbian will get really strong!
and another development:
˝On Tuesday, Nokia completed its acquisition of Symbian, the latest step in a process that eventually will make Symbian an open-source operating system under the planned Symbian Foundation.˝
I have the feeling that you may have a few Symbian phones in the future :)))
(˝It turns out that these days WinMo is not in its best shape.˝)

I feel realy disappointed with this forum, it seems like a bunch of kids fighting for their rights on their toy...i wish there would be a proper review forum, instead people telling eachother off...I had an N95 and it was ok...I had SE W850 and it was OK...Now I have HTC Touch Cruise which I love and Im waiting to buy the SE X1...my opinion, I will never go back to a symbian phone.
When I saw the N97 yesterday, for a minute I taught that I would change my mind and wait for N97 to come out and skip the X1 but after a close look, i still think the X1 is the right one for me, especially that the N97 is symbian. I see the N97 being a mix of varouis phones put together, that is TYTNII, iphone and i don't know exactly maybe a bit of trying too hard to make a winner phone without originality...I was also nearly going to get the HTC touch pro a week or so ago but I didn't like the feel of it.
I think you should never see the brand but the specs and design of the phone....as in everything in life, being obsessed with something is not good, an open and balance mind is the healthiest....

i was amazed when i saw x1 in a youtube video demo when it was not yet released, i watched every video there is about x1. i thought of buying, now it is available,i was a little dissapointed when i saw it in an SE store. it was not as elegant looking as i thought it was. i did not like the material being used in the keyboard, its very shiny metalic silver keyboard. the exterior color is not so black like it was in the video and commercialize photos.
i tried browsing the sample phone and it was a little slow when you are selecting a menu,it takes time to appear when you select but overall its not a bad phone and i can live with it. but considering the time it was delayed after it was announced 9 months ago, now its finally released, i really expected more. but to be fair x1 is in my top 3 phone choice today, but now i am not buying it as i planned 8 months ago. i will choose buying the iphone 3G and the HTC touch diamond over x1. X1 is not a bad phone, but i think not great too. i think it will be great when its released 8 months ago.

Go ahead and get it, you will not regret it, I have it and also have the Xperia, the Xperia is not worth the hype:
1- The chrome sorroundings on the handset is actually plastic covered with chrome look alike, and it gets dented and easily damaged.
2- HTC Touch Pro has a better grip when your holding it due to the rubberish back, the Xperia is very slippery.
3- The Xperia has a cool LED light that lights up when you get a missed call or sms's etc. HTC has the same but in the circular button in the middle of the handset.
4- Xperia has more battery life, HTC has a shorter battery life not bad but needs to be recharged every day and a half maximum.
5-HTC keyboard is very comfortable, Xperia lacks the row where the numbers are so you have to press 2 keys simultaneously to actually type a number.
6- HTC has TouchFlo which is very handy when trying to dial numbers etc. coz you can slide between your favourite contacts and dial immediately, the Xperia doesn't have that so you have to go through the whole list or open the keyboard and type the name, its dangerous while driving.
7- The speaker is low in both handsets but the Xperia has a little higher speaker than the HTC Touch Pro but still fairly lower than other handsets, but you get used to it in a day or 2.
8- Battery Life is better on the Xperia it has longer anbd faster charging than the HTC Touch Pro.
I recommend you all to go for the HTC Touch Pro its worth what you pay for compared to the Xperia which will get you bored in no time and will break easily in one drop.
The above statements have been tested and confirmed.

Jan, 07 Dec 2008I can truly say the phone is fast. Remember compare it to o... moreLook, no argument here! :)))
Enjoy your phone! I do not want to tell you that your phone is 3/10 when you are totally happy with it.
You have the right to feel good about it, you paid for it. If you like it so much you should share the experience and buy some more to your family and friends.
Enjoy your phone. Nobody here wants to spoil your happiness here.
(but since it is an opinion forum here, do not feel bad if someone feel less satisfied with the X1. People, expectations, individual phones are differ - please understand.)
Have a good day! :)))
