I posted some opinions from reviews below!
Unfortunately, X1 did not live up to all or some of the expectations. IT is and was a huge disappointment for many of us who waited almost a year to get it.
We paid for this and now we can wait for the next one.
Hopefully, SE will release the X2 or X5 soon (Hikaru).

nua, 07 Dec 2008why no review on this phone??? Because it is hard to write a good review of tht X1 and still being objective!
GSMArena was flooded with complaints at the time of release, so they waited .. waited for SE to fix the problems, but they have not been fixed, GsmArena has had three choices:
1: write an objective review - X1 sucks
2: write a bias review
3: not write a review
In the last few week they did the smart thing :)
The phone is available! We all know all the problems, even the fans, SE PR staff etc. - no need for review.
The review is useful when the phone is not released yet. It gives some info what to expect.
We already know the X1!

At $799, it is just not worth it˝

I owned X1i for 3 weeks and found it to be stable and speedy except some minor issues due to firmware and occasionally crashes after loading in new software probably cause by incompatible software issue, other than that X1i is a WinMo device superbly crafted for those who enjoy owning a unique machine.

i think if some of you is having a system problem with X1. its because the os is POWERED BY MICROSOFT. it is so sad that se get microsoft.. microsoft aint good with mobile phones like the O2 series.

SE is the most overrated phone on the market - by the fans
There are some widely reported problems with the X1:
(yes, some of you may got a perfect unit , but not every body - please understand that ;)
1: Reception problems
2: Wifi problems
3: battery weak (probably due to RAM leakage)
4: case cracks
Manufacturing error /lack of QA

5:Software crash / needed hard reset
6: incompatibility with application
due to screen resolution
7: unit gets hot
(battery?)
8: low speaker volume
Not all units have all of these but one or two of these is enough to get the user dissatisfied with the X1.
But, if you are who do not care, or happened to have a perfect unit ;)

i have a question...in gsmarena, it says xperia has 256 MB RAM while in wikipedia 384MB RAM. so which is more accurate?

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970You are very wrong the xperia has been out since february n97 just announced and what about n95 original that had 1000 of votes before it was released..ELDAR problem was when he made a comment about the i-phione and people took it the wrong way and sent horrible emails and rendered the site useless with spam hits..The n70 and s/e k750 ruled the roost for months because they wee great fones and sold thousands...Their are over 5 billion people in world with access to a computer so 70,000 vote ver 10 months is nowt and it was mainly due to anticipation..Now its out people who are dissappointed will give it a low mark..The i-phone is top of stuff mag top 10,,t3 top 10 and has got very good reviews and won PDA essentials mag best consumer handset and yet has got low votes but its nowt to do with this forum..Apple will buy apple if the n97 gets 10,000,000 votes and people who adore samsung will buy innov8 even if xperia looks better..If people get obssessed with nokia ouchscreen or the android people will sway that way its democracy ...

I got a chance to play around with this phone...man does it lag! I ended up getting a blackberry bold because of the stable OS and performance. Too bad, I waited for this phone for almost a year

Really its awesome! but the camera should atleast 5mega pixle n the vedio recording quality should be increased..

I have Omnia at the moment and i went to a shop and test Xperia X1. The phone is awesome with a good size. The only problem is that the screen is not flush. The screen is so sensitive not like Omnia. and sunlight readability is good too, Omnia is too bad for that. I found X1 is very fast compare to Omnia, even though Omnia has faster processor. I think I will change Omnia with X1.
