The Xperia X1 has Windows Mobile v6.1 in itself...

The Question is:

Can The Xperia X1 be updated to Windows Mobile v6.5?
AND
Is the update as easy to do like in the past SE phones ?

This is the thing that is haunting me...

Wow, what a screen. My mate was showing his X1 off yesterday, and I was super impressed with the screen, I haven't seen anything like that before, and I have had my fair share of phones.

I've had my X1 for just under a week now and it's brilliant. The first few days of using it i thought i had made a mistake, but i haven't, it's great. I got the steel silver one and the looks alone win ot for me. It stores virtually unlimited texts (all in an outlook format). The keyboard is a godsend, i mean, i never had problems texting before but it's so much easier and faster with a keyboard. It's not slow, infact the software runs very smoothly. The Xpanel is great :D the only downside i would have to say is the camera, not the best and lags a bit! other than that i'd say 9 out of 10! Amazing!

This is the best Windows Mobile device that has ever passed my desk. Period. Sony Ericsson was right by declaring it a "game changer" - this has raised the bar, and if the Panel interface takes off and we see a lot of neat Panels, the X1 could become a benchmark mobile device.
Not only is the X1 refined from top to bottom, but it brings a new interface paradigm that challenges our idea of what a Windows Mobile Today screen should be. I was super impressed by its high performance and excellent battery life, and was refreshed by the sensitivity and clarity of the high-resolution touchscreen. If you're big on one-handed use, this device is not for you. But for everyone else that desires a powerhouse of a device, this is definitely it.

        PROS

        • Panel interface is interesting and holds potential
        • Amazing performance
        • Outstanding battery life
        • Crisp and bright WVGA screen with high touch sensitivity
        • Near instant screen rotation
        • Has a 3.5mm headphone jack
        • Includes optical D-Pad plus standard D-Pad
        • Flick-scrolling throughout
        • Auto-configures for major carriers (AT&T & T-Mobile in the US included)
        • Innovative four-way LED notification system
        • Great build quality with use of real metal
        • Top-notch camera
        • aGPS/WiFi/HSDPA/FM Radio

        CONS

        • Poor one-handed usability
        • Choice of Panels is currently scarce
        • Recessed screen traps debris
        • No case/screen protector included
        • No voice recognition software
        • microSD slot is under battery cover
        • Lacks an accelerometer

About the memory card, right now you can expand the memory with a 16GB Transflash card and even possibly the 32GB Transflash card when they are available in stores.

65k colors is not a thing, main point is that it still OWNS other cellphones out there!

Got it yesterday from axiom for 3450AED, the phone is dashing, i heard people talking about the network issue it was solved by selecting the network operator manually, bluetooth works perfect, software has no issues & is not slow at all. Google works fine, the best thing is the panels, more panels are available online in short it is the best phone in the market at the moment. I prefer it over my N96, but i would keep both.

The Xperia's x1 screen is simply stunning and no wonder with that tremendous WVGA resolution. The screen shows FIVE times more detail than inferior phones such as n96 the afore mentioned nokia has the outdated and truly awful QVGA resolution. Let's put it this way There is no point viewing high quality photo's, video's, graphs etc on a N - Series screen, the display sport a very meager 76800 pixels compare that to x1 which crams in 384000 pixels.Superb

There should be a Windows Mobile 6.5 update soon.
