Kenniy, 23 Jun 2008Yemi...that phone isnt out men..maybe some china version..u... moreIf you go back 3-4 pages you can find a couple of good links to videos on xperia and you will find bengal boy has one...he got his by getting a pre production model supposidely someone said on this forum for 1500 dollars...ITS not due till september which gives us more time to save up...the chipset is 7201a i think that handles vga video the 7200 chip does not but eventually they will go high def as standard..

The more i check out this phone...the more i cant wait to have it.....i have been a SE fan all my life...i hope it will be worth the wait.

I want it because it will work with T-Mobile's 3G network. 1700/2100.
However, I think it'll be quite pricey.

nick, 22 Jun 2008well i think if sony ericcson could alone put vga video on ... moreDude, none of the HTC phones are capable of recording @vga as well. Xperia line was introduced by SE as a combination of its cybershot, walkman and smartphone range.
And also Xperia has a capable processor to handle VGA video. Thats the reason why, it is capable of recording VGA videos and it would have been a bit of trouble putting SE port on Qualcomm chipset so they prefered mini USB and 3.5mm jack

well i think if sony ericcson could alone put vga video on their devices surely their "camera dedicated cybershot devices" would have VGA video!!
and if sony ericsson could put a 3.5mm jack on their "music orientated walkman devices" then would.
its only because of HTC

Dats d first time nokia is being hit dat badly.thx 2 c905 n xperia.SE now hv d upper hand on nokia.can nokia stand up against SE?im sure dey wont give up widout a fight.

If htc is rly makin it den dey shud hv put their name in it.it wud hv made dem more popular n cud hv earned 5times more dan se paid dem.abt vga @30fps,3.5 aj its their wish actually.yeah its disappointin dat c905 dusn hv vga video.mayb dey will put those features only in x series.think abt it dat makes sense.i still dun see any reason 4 htc makin it.if htc r involved den mobile site(gsma,phonearena) wud hv mentioned it.

It does seem htc are builing this for s/e sadly but i think that s/e must be putting in their bit as htc will not own the cybershot/walkman brand...
Their is also android phones on the horizon and the garmin nuvifone but i expect that to be heavily built around gps..
Their is also a mobifone thing coming out this year with a basic core phone and you add your own blocks to it that contain a camera or gps module etc these modules just attach to the core and you swap and build your own device a bit like lego

Sum Ppl r so st**id these dys.htc is makin xperia.bla bla.i guess dey dun hv common sense.lets face it y wud htc make a fon 4SE?if htc is rly makin it den htc name wud hv been infront of xperia.dis1 is d ultimate smartfon yet so sexy.nokias position is at stake.so nokia fans started rantin dat htc is makin it.it only means 1thing nokia fans r scared.
All d credit goes 2 SE 4 making d ultimate device.

Xperia X1 WOW!. Nothing like this in the market. I would buy today no matter the price.
BUT Sony mistake was not keeping the secret. By the time it will be available it will be a handful of similar choices iPhone 4G, the latest NOKIA, HTC etc. and I might never get to buy this one becaue I need a new cell/pda very soon.
Any hope that it will be release SOONER?

this is made by HTC mostly.
sony ericsson have never put vga in a phone (even the new c905 doesnt have it) yet it is in the HTC collabiration...
sony ericsson never put a 3.5mm jack in their phones, yet it is in the HTC collabiration
AND WINDOWS MOBILE.
