Someone said there were no Symbians with hi res so i thought they meant Symbians in general. Otherwise im aware that SE Symbians never carried high res screens.
Im not getting worked up :-)
The very early N95-8GB Prototypes had VGA screens, there were spy pics of them showd great quality displays but apparently the VGA screens took way too much battery power and shortened battery life so NOKIA removed the VGA in the last minute unfortunetly.
I have no idea why NOKIA stopped the 352x418 displays, they gave such great results, especialy on the E70 which had 352x418 with 16Million colours its an amazing display. Maybe the NOKIA "TUBE" Touchscreen phone will have a VGA display.
Anyway i just curious on why people are an@l about NOKIAs having QVGA while even HTC's current Flagship has a QVGA lol yet when put next to a N95-8gb with same size screen the N95-8gb gives better results than TyTN-II or TyTN. Hmmm. . . NOKIA realy should make a VGA :-)
Sorry for disturbing YOUR topic :-) LETS NOW PRAISE THE GREAT X1. . . . .

If you look to the new generation of top end Pocket pc's they all have high resolution screens.Toshiba,E-TEN,HTC/SE,Gigabye,Asus can all see the need.I'm actually quite surprised Nokia didn't put a VGA screen in the N95 8GB or n96.

And N7$x aka Tsepz in your earlier post you asked about SE not Nokia Quote 'Please point out a SE Symbian with higher res than QVGA?' my reply was @N7$x Their's no SE Symbian device with a high resolution display and with good reason...They don't have VGA video recording or great media players.Xperia X1 is a different beast hence the WVGA screen. You get awfully worked up Tsepz!!pmpl

We are talking here and now.The only Nokia worth it's salt is the e90 but then again it's MASSIVE and dosen't have a flexible OS or touchscreen.Yes we can go back and look at mobiles like n80 but the screen was TINY and it didn't have VGA video recording OR the capabilities to play high quality movies but yes it was still a nice screen to view images, web pages etc.Why did Nokia downgrade the screen yet upgrade the multimedia capabilities on the n-series?BIZARRE.SE have upgraded the screen and multimedia in one go...how sensible..wouldn't you say??and wouldn't you also say it is RIDICULOUS buying a n96,shooting VGA video and viewing it on it's pathetic QUARTER VGA screen..defeats the purpose.

The Nokia fraternity really amuse me honesty they really do.Are they all kids or just plain dumb? They hijack every forum known to man and unsuccessfully attack other brands. As the knowledgeable users have stated your N-Series models are far from perfect.I for one am bitterly disappointed with the screen pixel count on the N96's it just downgrading the whole cell.Unless your willing to transfer personal video recordings, photo's,basically anything that is visually related to a Computer your wasting your time.I want a cell that can take me away from my PC,not one that forces me to use it if I want to see detail.Xperia offers me all I need.PS Instead of Nokia users wasting time here please go and demand high resolution screens for your high resolution features.

Nokia need to follow SE lead and cut out the stupid gimmicks.SE produce a device capable of VGA video recording and give it a screen to match.Nokia n96 still uses qvga resolution, how insane is that? Its laughable.Xperia X1 has WVGA screen, eten v900 has superb display,Gigabyte gsmart t600 has DVB-T and a VGA display...see the trend?Every manufacturer who chooses high multimedia features uses a very high resolution screen every manufacturer that is EXCEPT except nokia!!QVGA screen in a multimedia computer?oh dear oh dear

SE fans are too much excited because this is the first phone from SE to have good functionality. However this comes at a price and hence N-series especially N82 are cheaper and better alternates for the common user.

N95, N82 are all established with proven reliability as you can see from the skyrocketing sales of these devices. We can talk about xperia's performance only next year.
