u should compare this phone with E90. and i can tell u e90 is sucks...they said it communicator for business but it used crappy symbian instead of WM. and also xperia have a better processor than e90 (528MHZ Vs 330 MHZ).

and for sure, this phone clearly have better design than stupid brick e90.

You CANNOT have a 16M colour screen because it is a WINDOWS MOBILE limitation... it can only support up to 65k colours.

For people who posted comments regarding the screen being "crappy", please get out of the discussion, you obviously have no idea how WM works. And you must also be underage to buy these kind of devices, unless you are pretty much spoiled by your parents.

This phone has brought so many issues to the fore. One of them is branding. I am certain that if HTC had put their name on the product there would not be even half the interest! Look at Toshiba; they have a similar product: the G910/920 and yet although it was announced a month earlier than Xperia it only has ONE page of reader's opinions! It has failed to catch the public's enthusiasm partly because the brand does not carry the same weight as SE.
I feel that many of you are expecting too much from Xperia. The Qualcomm processor has not been tested to such high spec requirements and may not deliver the delights you desire. However purely on perusing the specs, it looks promising. Let us hope that SE and HTC(that is in fact three companies) can put heads together and make this device function reliably, because if not there are going to be alot of red faces!! Let me leave you with this caveat: if you need a portable computer buy a laptop!

x1 seems to be too perfect for a pda fone...but its kinda lacking with two things, could hv a higher resolution camera n at least 16mil screen...

I would love if SE/HTC implemented the Nvidia APX 2500 to future Xperia series phones. This would make that UI truly, truly awesome!!

NVIDIA APX 2500 + XPERIA = INSTANT WINNER! Seriously, SE or HTC must implement NVIDIA's UI to their phones. Truly is the next level if they do. http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/9030.html

When a person looks for a mobile phone, they always look at the brand, the brand's reputation in terms of the quality and price of their products and their reliability. Every company is always trying to make the "better phone" due to competition.

This is why every company makes a broad range of products with certain features. For example, camera phones, music phones, business phones etc. Now people want a phone with more functionality and features.

A person decides what phone suites them in terms of their needs and preferences.

Today, there is a trend between mobile phones and computers. Mobile phones are becoming more functionaly and more like a UMPC, whil laptops are becoming smaller and more efficient. Eventually, there will be a time when mobile phones and laptops will be combined into one device as people are demanding more and more of these devices.

I find the Xperia X1 a well-balanced device, that will suite all a person's needs. This phone also hsa an amazing stainless steal design, with a built in 3.5 MM headphone jack, a VGA resolution screen, a touchscreen, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and excellent functionality with an altered version of Windows Mobile 6.1 by SE. This phone wouldn't be worth much if ot wasn't for its amazing 1500 Mah lithium-ion battery.

This phone is truly well-balanced in terms of functionality and design!

Everyone, you need to read the main page news.

The XPERIA is running on the Qualcomm MSM7200 chipset, at 528Mhz. This is a dual core CPU with multiple engines to boost multimedia performance.

This means hardware 3D acceleration, hardware video encoding/decoding acceleration, and improved image processing. As a multimedia device, this platform definitely has the ability to excell without breaking a sweat. Also, as a dual-core design, the 528Mhz ARM11 CPU is supported by multiple DSP's (digital signal processors) which handle all of the communication/modem processes, leaving the CPU free to focus purely on applications & games.

Windows Mobile has been around for ages, and whilst being a very flexible platform I really don't think it's been able to show off it's full potential, as it's never really had a company large enough to make a substantial consumer base to make it as popular as I'd like to see it. However, now that SE is making several multimedia promises for this O/S it just might get the backing it needs. Simply put, with Sony Ericsson spearheading a new software movement, we will be sure to see some amazing advances in terms of WM6 games, multimedia applications, and business oriented software.

For me, the XPERIA is everything I've ever wanted in a phone. I'm very excited and will be patiently waiting until it is released.

65k = bad resolution and color, that's why they have longer battery life compared to 16m colors which is digital-alike images. Windows OS not a good choice.. SE really has gone down.. I bet this fon is way to far compared to samsumg G810 and nokia N82... bwahahaha
