AnonD-128689, 21 Apr 2013Hello everyone, here I am with my experience of Xperia Z. B... moreI too compared viewing angles of XZ to Note 2 and Note 2 was obviously better. Give Samsung (amoled) what is due Samsung and simply remark the quality of the screen overall...

PS: I too am the proud owner of an XZ :)

gamer, 20 Apr 2013You first use any latest amoled screen from Samsung then te... moreI owned one and let it go.

You didn't get my point: I know that absolute black and contrast are exceptional in amoled displays, but these are merely technical tools: you don't get to see absolute black in nature. Either accept that this is an... anomaly or you'll have to accept that... nature itself is an anomaly ;)

+ (and this is where it becomes really serious):

amoled screens are physically incapable of delivering pure white. pure white (which IS naturally possible, as opposed to absolute black) can be reached by TFT displays as far as the human eye is able to perceive. This is basics in photography and display development and it's actually visible with the naked eye on a good TFT display.

So, technically, you're right, but you forget that we're humans and that our eyes are imperfect. And between choosing technology which adapts to my innate imperfection and technology which advertises a set of characteristics that are ideal on paper (see the concept of infinite contrast) and counter- or non-natural in hand, I'll always choose the former.

Hello everyone, here I am with my experience of Xperia Z. Before that let me tell you that I have been using SONY for 6 years now. I have used almost all high end devices of SONY. All SONY phones are the best in world but this one is the DADDY of all. I love SONY for its looks, feel, UI, camera, natural colors and of course sound quality. I am using Xperia Z for a week now. I am a working guy, I have 50+ work mates in my office with almost all brand mobiles. And let me be very honest this device made everyone jealous by its looks and feel.
Let me come to the point now. I believe that every functionality of phone differs device to device or unit to unit. People here complaining about viewing angles, I compared mine with my office mate having Note 2 and guess what I won the viewing angles competition. Camera is perfect, sound quality is best. Guys screen colors are not all washed out, it’s just that you Samsung users are used to over saturated colors. Screen is simply best enhanced by Mobile Bravia Engine2. I never compare my devices to other brands, you see I have nothing to do with others. But I have a question to those who complain about the processor speed, are you running something that heavy that you come to the conclusion that SONY is worst in speed. I mean even 1.5 GH dual core speed is more than enough to perform or to use every application lying in Android market. I would again say that I don’t care what other brands are coming up with, but I love SONY and for me SONY is the best. Only issues I came up with are heating problem which is normal as there is no way to throw the heat outside the device and the major concern is flaps, its OK when you open the charging flap and put your phone on charging but I live in fear when I open the headphone flap to listen music and put my phone back in my pocket, flap hangs and can be detached any day from the phone. I have the solution for this too I will soon purchase NFC headphones from E-bay. Then I will not be having any issues with this beauty. Anyone planning to buy this and having doubts can go ahead and purchase this, you will never regret on this deal. Thanks

AnonD-116724, 21 Apr 2013As for me I would not care about the 80% thingy~ But I'll ... moreThen you need to understand how batteries like in laptops can't hold electrical charges anymore after a year or two.

Let's put it in laymen's explanation. There is a a bi-product substance that accumulates whenever you charge the battery cells. This substance will retard or lessens the hold of electrical charge. The more time the battery is plugged in, the more these regarding substances occur, the lesser the battery can hold electricity to power the device.

So, it's up to you charge your device to 100% every night. I do my charging with a timed adaptor, programed to cut the power in 1.5 hours. That's hardly any work involved there.

The advice the Android Guy has presented is the best and most logical way to preserve battery life and electrical load in the long term.

But I'll care for the 20% or 15% as bottom-line (Because it's what I do for years)...

If a smartphone battery hardly survive for a day with 100% for heavy usage, how bout 80%?

If a battery only charge to 80%, it takes less time to drain it to 20%~
In result of increasing the number of times plug and unplug the charger head...
And loosen the charging port of all devices occur~
This happened to my sis SGS2 because of charging it frequently everyday...
Can you replace the charging port like batteries?
Why so much fuss only to maintain a battery life?
You can bring it to service center and change the battery if it dies (Approx a year or two years once)~
It's wont cost you a lot of money and time...

You are making yourself busy for 24/7 a year...

For laptops you can charge the battery till full or 80% as what you mentioned~
Then remove it and run via AC power...
                                    No overcharging occur~
But actually there's no "over-charging" for smartphones too...
All modern devices will auto cut-off power when it reaches 100%~
                                    Then run with AC power...
