Huawei P40 Pro 5G pops up on Geekbench
The Huawei P40 Pro 5G, arriving on March 26, has passed through Geekbench confirming key specs in the process.
The P40 Pro 5G, with model code ELS-NX9, will run Android 10 out of the box and have 8GB RAM onboard. Though there will likely be other RAM options as well that aren't confirmed yet.
The benchmark database doesn't reveal the name of the chipset powering the P40 Pro 5G, but it appears it will have the Kirin 990 SoC at the helm, which powers the company's Mate 30 lineup and the Mate Xs foldable smartphone announced last month.
This is because the P40 Pro 5G's synthetic performance on Geekbench is in line with the Mate 30 Pro's, which achieved 754 and 2,847 points in the benchmark platform's single and multi-core tests respectively at default settings.

Alongside the P40 Pro 5G, Huawei is expected to unveil two other smartphones - the vanilla P40 and a Premium Edition. The latter is rumored to sport five cameras on the back inside a rectangular plate.
We are still over a week from the official announcement of the P40 lineup, so expect to hear more about it in the coming days.

They made a minor SoC upgrade in P9 with an introduction of Kirin 955, so there is still a possibility.

Like a 995? It's possible. I would say that it doesn't make sense to release a chip just for a phone (and an honor one) and in mid-cycle but Samsung did the same with the 9825. So, who knows. I'm still towards this GB been fake.

Probably Huawei is using higher binned version of Kirin 990, or its big CPU cores are actually clocked higher but it's not reflected in the specs listed by GB because they only record the clock speed of power efficient little cores. Though another ...
