andrew, 11 Sep 2009only good os??you have just proved that you don't know anyt... moreN900 has all of that but a RESISTIVE touch screen. FAIL!

People are complaining about the screen's resolution or the colors, but I think that a capacitive touch screen is way better than a resistive one!

This would be a good alternative for the iphone or other expensive touchscreen phones. This would probably sell for $300 unlocked, which would be a good deal. As for me, I don't want any touchscreen device that has a display smaller than 3.5 inches, so this phone will not work for me. Looks cool though.

Good going Motorola!!! Good to see them come back in competitive market of smartphones again with a very decent price phone that offers some good stuff. Rather it's better or not so better then the n900 or iPhone who cares but what it does offer is choice for us consumers at very competitve price. Personaly I think it offers more then the iPhone straight out the box and everyone really is not into games that much for it to be a deal breaker. Motorola always has made good durable phones and case some of you forgot.

since none of them support video-conference call.

i managed to play with htc hero at a mobile-shop and i really like the screens response in comparison to other models,, in my openion it offers the nearest experience to iphone,, this one offers android and capacitive screen so i hope this device would come with 200 euros as they stated,,,

A phone can be described as a good phone not from the price. If we have a good phone or maybe better than N900 with a cheaper price,so why not?

kal, 11 Sep 2009Lol. Some people like "you" most probably do not realize it... moreWell, well... Let's analyse what you've just said:

"Lol. Some people like "you" most probably do not realize it that we spend a lot "more" time looking at our phone than we thought. Every time we make/receive a call..."

Don't tell me you have eyes in your ears? You look at your phone when a call comes in or when you're looking up a contact and afterwards you put your phone up against your ears!!! So does it matter during those seconds that you have more then 65K or 262K colors?!?! And don't give me "How about BT headsets?" So what? When you're talking using your headset, do you have to look at the screen so that you don't forget to who you were talking to?!?!

                                        Next examples:

"send or read sms..." Don't tell me you a lot of diferent shades of grey or color (assuming that almost every SMS editor used by any brand is usually black text on a white background for maximum contrast) in order to read/type your messages?!?

"check time..." I know, I know you probably have some psychadelic color scheme for your watch (sigh)

"watch videos/images..." the ONLY part where we actually look intensly at the screen. But once again, I have still to find a movie and specially a picture where I can say "OK, here's where 16M colors come in handy". Ever heard of dithering?

"In fact we looked at it "more often" than we talk over it."

Really?!? Are talking phones or digital foto frames?!?!

"If you are not utilizing a smart phone's potential then yes you dont need to look at it and most probably you just need a basic phone with minimal display."

So a smart phone potential is measured in the number of colors it can display?!?! Geez, and all this time I thought it was the potential to do "smart" things like document editing, web browsing, installing new apps to make your phone more productive or fun to use, etc, etc...

"Yes HTC's Android offerings are so far 65k and other windows mobiles are restricted to 65k effective colors. But Android supports more than that. This phone offers all that others are offering too. A better screen could have made it stand out like "Galaxy" does. That was my point."

My point is that when people moan over having a 16M screen, the main reason is as you said "to stand out" or in other words brag and compensate for small genitals. I have a HTC WinMo device and I use it to it's fullest potential but for ME and not to show off that I have an expensive device or to tell people who couldn't care less, "Look at my phone! It has 16M colors!!!"

To end this already long comment: would I like 16M on my device? Sure, why not? Will I lose any sleep about it, because it doesn't have 16M color? No, there are more important features in a real phone.
