MI's advantage here is that their phone line is already established whereas X line is new & unknown.
Sony's advantage is that they have better brandname which will matter in more elite markets.
Which woud I buy ? Hah. I only buy compact phones.

Xiaomi is hardware seller . They combine hardware from several company then sell it in slim profit to sell more . I planed to get mi5 myself also but not because it is better . Its because it is cheaper .

Xiaomi's balance for both performance and the buck is a win win situation for me, the 128gig is an added advantage in areas where getting an sd card for such a capacity is still a dream!

I could run games like Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5 along with couple of apps just fine without any lag or whatsoever.

Definitely. Sony products have more durability and it's global products which have same hardware and specifications in every country.. Mi is based on religion so defiantly Sony is more trusted and also promising update in Sony.

I saw there are a lot of negative comments on Xiaomi. I feel most of the negative comments are commented by who never used Xiaomi products. I am using Xiaomi and I feel Better than sony.

I purchased Xperia M and my brother purchased Mi3. I purchased as because of Brand by sony and my bro purchased because of specs and metal body. We both purchased at approximately equal price, now i sold becaus i cannot able to us any apps only 900Mb is free on deleting all datas unable to move apps to sd card and took my choice as Mi4i. My bro does not change till now, sonys camera is crappy and not got the valuve for money. My brothers mi3 is still good camera now mi4i Also had good camera. I will recommand for xiaomi as because its good value for money.

went to shanghai last january, and at Nanjing shopping district where there is a big Apple store, i observed a lot of people there most of them are using these phones iPhone, Samsung and Sony.
