I want flat screen with 16:9 screen ratio because I don't split screen into smaller view areas, don't want curved screen curved edge curved screen corners because it just a gimmick not advanced technology, don't want stupid notch because it just another gimmick to block the notification bar, don't want bezelless but can be less bezel because I want durability more than fragile bezelless.

I hate curved screens with a passion, and I’ve been waiting patiently for a comeback of a flat Galaxy. Been stuck on the last flat S7 ever since.

Try them first then try to spew your BS talk haters. Just so you guys can't understand and have not used the tech doesn't mean it ain't good. Good day!

It's like curved TVs, a trend that will die out soon enough. Interestingly, Samsung is the only major TV manufacturer still holding onto curved TVs. I also have one but just because it was the cheapest OLED option, and I think if it was flat, it would look more elegant and upmarket to be honest

Curved glasses and the recent Fortnite freebies are exactly how I know no "pro" actually use Samsung phone for serious work. The company might force them one but that is it

Using the s8 for 5 months. I hated curved screens and rounded corners in the past, now I can't go back to flat screens and bezels! The thing that bothers me the most, is that screen protectors sucks so much a** on curved screens. Tempered glass- adhesive only on edges, plastic-scratches very easily, offers no drop protection and has dot matrix, silicone(which I am using since I got the phone)-very good drop protection, regeneration(scratches and impacts tend to fade in time), but again it has dot matrix and smudges so hard( seriosly it feels like I threw this phone into a WC or something!!). Also touch feeling is the best on glass itself. My advice: don't use screen protectors and avoid sand and rough surfaces to prevent from scratches. Or use screen protectors (like me) to alterate the experience, just for lifespan extending.
Btw, dot matrix is basicaly an effect where your screen is much more pixelated than it actually is. With no screen protector the screen (and the glass itself) is so clear and beautiful to look at. Try on a white background and you'll realise what am I talking about! If only samsung would put screen protectors from the factory...
Regards.

I prefer curved screens. They make swipes & gestures better. I'd however like if manufacturers made official fit perfect screen protectors for these screens

Personally, I'm cool with curved displays. I got the S7 Edge, and the curves display looks and feels fantastic.

If you argument for the cost of repairs is "hey, at least it's not as much as Apple's most expensive phone", you're not helping yourself. Curved screens are an expensive gimmick.

the Note edge was cool, but in later phones the edge just shrank down to barely noticable. what we need is a foldable phone

I think I'd be more interested in seeing a repair cost comparison between say the S7 and S7 edge than a Samsung/Apple comparison

Akinaro, 27 Aug 2018Curved glass and body? OK its look nice. Curved screen? Us... moreI prefer flat screen n 2.5D curve glass on the side so it will be cheaper for me. Dont compare the price of curved sceeen to iPhone X flat screen! Apple screen is also expensive because of no bezel at all (except notch). It's harder to make. Android maker screen still have bottom bezel. I like the design just like Meizu 16 and 16 Plus. It's very beautiful and not expensive.

You want small 4:3 screens with bezels? Users knew long ago screens shatter and they buy phones despite that, wait, they even use cracked screens.
Bended screens makes 2 side bezels virtually nonexistent, make feeling of using phone luxurious with eliminating sharp edges, not to mention you get screen to 2 more sides of phone. Also if in andromeda style you can simulate 180 degree bending to get bigger screen.
You wouldn't be able to do that with flat screen, not to mention you invest in tech so it will get better like in color shifting. Feels too fragile? Just add something to corners, they are cut-out anyway. Why not also top and bottom? Because S10 may not have any bezels, thats why.
