as a polite question to the nokia die hards /hard core fans.
If nokia's symbian operating system was so good and their market share was so high because of their then handset quality, then why did apple and later Android take so much of the market share and the attention of the mas markets?

please give a rational answer if you can can rather then the rants and diatribes you normally find on this website

Elop you in big trouble for going all in on WP. Meego was a much better choice and they should of put more effort into Meego and N9. N9 is breaking sales record in china, selling one every 3 minutes.

I wanted to change my iPhone 4 I wanted a bigger screen so I decided to wait for the iPhone 5 then apple announced the 4S I decided to look else where I loved the Lumia and I almost bought one untill I was shocked to know it lacks a front video call camera so I decided to go with the Samsung Galaxy S2 I think Nokia failed again the N9 was realsesd with a dead OS and Lumia 800 lacks a front camera, which makes both phones a bad investment If Nokia would have released the Lumia with Symbian it would have had much better sales.

iguano, 23 Nov 2011lol 140 comments on a FAIL product!!! I WANT TO SEE THE HIT... morewhat an ignorant comment. many interest is not = good product. i, for one hope that lumia 800 will be the saver that will bring nokia up from the slump, but im fairly dissapointed with the phone. for me, its just another WP7 with few added features. i like nokia n9, but the realization that the OS will not be continued anymore just kill the phone. Nokia, if u read this, dump elop and go on with meego(or is it tizen now).

I am still very optimistic about Nokia Windows Phones. Too early to say how this wp7 venture will make or break it for Nokia and besides, Q4 sales would be referring to early adopters anyway. People miss Nokia in its key markets and nokia lumia is what they've been waiting for. As for me, I'm getting my Lumia next year.

Don't think it was 2 million in 3 months considering how late the device is being made available. India in the past few weeks. Beginning to get broad rollouts in Europe only this month. US and China still no go. Most of Asia still not getting the device. So how is it going to hit 2 million when its not released in so many markets. In some markets the launch window is probably delyaed to accomodate the N9. The analyst should do better ground work...

As a Nokia user for my entire life till now.I must say i love Nokia as a multi giant in manufacturing the cell phone software and hardware. But since the time Android came to the play ground Nokia is dead like a rotten shit.It is mainly because of Nokia wrong decision. If Nokia takes up Android then Nokia can once again think about becoming a super power in Call phone Market otherwise i would say Nokia can rest in peace. If Nokia has put up lot of money and effort in developing Symbian smartphone then Nokia can actually keep producing both Android and Symbian phones.
I still love and trust Nokia devices but if they don't turn back to Android then Nokia will loose their their hard earned identity in the public. And if you look at the people round the globe then i can see their all their prayers.Of a total of 100% of people 99% of people want Nokia to consider Android and produce Android devices but that the useless CEO of Nokia is just making Nokia loose its integrity by putting Nokia into a big ditch.I think the present Nokia CEO is bribed by the CEO of Samsung or HTC.I will not say GOOGLE has any hands in this GOOGLE doesn't need to any recognition by any bad menace.
I DREAM OF THE DAY. NOKIA+GOOGLE=Android Super Smartphone. On this day i will be the first one to buy the Nokia phones again. And i guess all will do the same and get Nokia to the Top of the world.
Now Nokia has lost recognition and is degraded to the standard of a garbage Chinese toy.

hahahah lmfao, not so long ago, last week i think, we battle about this being so called phone of the year, that it is better than the mighty SAMSUNG GALAXY S II, and i was one that argued that it is a joke that this one wins, and now we just simply prove that now, that this phone is really a big joke, winning a phone of the year? now who's laughing now NOKIA and NOKIA fanboys?

I think people do not care about efficiency. People will certainly be interested in something bombastic. What heralded by the phone was not about sophistication and not about something new, anyway. Not like now people imagine an iPhone or Samsung that looks sophisticated. It seems Nokia is still lagging behind.

Sails, 22 Nov 2011Well over hundred comments in few hours. Lumia 800 certainl... moreNot true, users are just concerned much a drag winpho will cause nokia as a new comer. I personally think it was a very bad move by nokia, it's more of a personal vendetta of Steven elop! Which is a fault on nokia part to hire him!

I'll tell you my take why symbian failed. It's simply too unreliable, I figure it's in the microsoft originated filesystem FAT, it will just get corrupted by itself once every year according to my experience. So no more Microsoft stuff for me, it sucks!!! Big time!! It will be a fool of you to rely on such crappy tech with your valuable data!!!

nokia needs to catch up with the market they once had , days are gone when handsets where simple talk and text devices , i loved nokia handsets and owned loads of them and loved the 8800 series but now i couldn't even dream of not owning a iPhone for the things it can do! so if nokia wants its throne back they need lots of new tricks! ,may be a 8800 series touch screen smartphone ???

WP users can choose either Samsung and HTC(LG) instead of them Nokia...or just stay what they've got like myself, Focus.
