The company anticipated the backlash, and thus had a few reasons at the ready.

Anonymous, 08 Aug 2019In today's wireless world why do we even need a headphone jack?? As an audiophile, wireless headphones don't sound as good as wired. Also, dongles ruin the quality of wired headphones so... Slap in the face of consumers who paid a hefty amount for studio-quality headphones.

Samsung removing the headphone jack on their phones was completely inevitable, but this was the WRONG phone to do it first on. It just doesn't seem right, the Note series is for Samsung's "most productive users"!! I would've been much happier if they kept it on the Note10 and removed it on the S11. I'm just crossing my fingers they don't do it on the A series anytime soon.

That is TOTAL bs, Note9 has larger battery than Note8 AND a headphone jack.

necru, 08 Aug 2019What I just replied to a guy on a different post, it applie... morethis is not really true. the note series always have been a better device than the s series that are launched earlier in the year. they always improve or at least refine on what was on the s series.

now, you can't blame people for wanting to have the jack- they pay premium for the device. for many audiophiles, the smartphone have replaced music players for listening to high quality music on the go. yes, there are bluetooth audio codecs that can compete with analog wired audio signal, but of course in reality the wired audio still has the upper hand in quality. yes, one can argue that the analog wired signal is available through the usb/usb-c port also, but that route requires an adapter that you need to have with you whenever listening to music. again, these people paid premium for their devices so they actually have the right to demand the features they wanted.

i am an audiophile myself, but i prefer listening to my high quality music at home on proper equipment. i dont mind the loss of the jack here as i do use twses when listening to music on my smartphones whenever i am not at home. but then again, you can't blame these people as they pay hefty sums for these devices.

inexcusable move, adding wretched inconvenience for minor benefit. better haptics and an extra *100* mAh for the added hell of a new, far bulkier peripheral requiring separate charging?

damn you to hell, Samsung, you scumbags pulled an Apple. reverse course, or GFYS.

100% not worth it. Sacrifice a large amount of convenience for a little extra feel good and 10 minutes of extra SoT?

They are not getting my money anymore.

                        Not surprising.

Lmao. Textbook style excuse especially for 100mAh one.

Just say upfront you want to sell more BT headsets and call it a day.

Those are the same, exact reasons that some fruit brand told years ago, that Samsung totally dissed all the time. Now, Samsung's eating its own garbage. Pathetic.
