I don't know why people are complaining a lot about mediatek processor because update situation in my redmi 6a is not that bad i got pie upadate in first 6 or 7 months after buying it. I think people are forming their opinion about the old mediatek processors but after helio p60 mediatek is making good processors and updates are also good.

the question is how power efficient is Helio G90T, past and even current line of of mtk processor are not as power efficient as Snapdragon's,...

This was HMD statement back then when Nokia 3 didn't receive Android 7.1 like others
“Yes, and this is the nuance of it… MTK (MediaTek) doesn’t support 7.1.1. Qualcomm supports that… We said to MTK, if you are our chipset provider, you have to commit to get the latest and greatest.”
For Nokia to give those updates they had to work Exclusively with Mediatek.
And those updates don't solve other things like virus getting root access in mediatek SOC, lack of developers supports because of mediatek stubbornness for not releasing source codes etc.

G90T will perform somewhere around SD730,
but problem being its 12nm process compared to 8nm SD730 or 10nm SD712.
so battery life could be shorter compared to the snapdragon one. Hopefully not by much

I'm a gamer too but some gamer sure need to root the phones for extra performance, and my whyred already make me feel comfortable with stable performance and Gcam for photos. I dont know if mediatek can do that too..

With all of the new phones Xiaomi is releasing, I can't see a hint or even a leak of the Poco F2. If that's the case I'll have to get the F1. This is getting frustrating TBH...

I think redmi note 8/8 pro maybe like redmi note 4. First time use mediatek soc first for china only and then use snapdragon for global. I hope so..

Only a few mediatek devices receive system upgrades, others barely get some bug fixes and security patches.
Plus, I don't know if you've been into gamer ecosystem. I'm pretty sure that if you consider phones as a true gaming platform you'd get some really nice and polite responses in return. Just try it out in any gaming forum and let us know of the results.

Won't be great for custom roms. I wonder how much the price will change. The G90T is the latest and greatest so I don't expect it to be cheap.

Gaming or not, no matter how you put sugar on it, it's still a mediatek. Haven't gotten any noteworthy update on any mediatek I've owned.
I would like to have a version with Snapdragon 670 or so. Call it Note 8 minus, Note 8 noob, I don't care, but give the masses a snapdragon version and see which sells better.
