There goes our last chance at having a privacy focused OS...
It seems Google/ Android is a privacy disease we just can't rid ourselves from.

I don't think they can replace GMS anytime soon. Google start from services so they have everyone locked inside their ecosystem and then they realese phones.

All those fanboys awaiting Hong Meng/Harmony to replace Android and its spyware where is it now?
It was never going to release this year far from it Huawei just kept changing their statements confusing people and all the fanboys lapped it up.
Huawei need Google that same company who all of you fanboys say is guilty of spyware ;)

If the US ban on Huawei is never lifted then surely American apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Netflix and many many other apps which people expect to have access to would be blocked on the Huawei Mobile Services.

i bet huawei can be more successful in making non-google android than amazon did for fire os. payment api should be the first thing to do.

[deleted post]Really depends a lot of the fans. Of course a system cannot be replaced in a half a year, that's a dream not posible. But if their fan base is strong and they do it right, in five years they might have already introduced their system and it actually might already grow. But, as i've said, everything depands on the fans. Let's not forget that for china android is not the android you know, so their will probably be very easy to introduce another system.

They should still go ahead with an OS alternative as well. If it's compatible with Android apps that's even better.

Guys they can make the os but they don't want. Their fans are more important than their ideas but they don't know that for Huawei with apps we don't care about google. They don't want to offer something that people don't trust in.

it's not that gsmarena is being biased. think about it, they (huawei) dont want to because they cant. they don't want to ditch android because they cant create their own os and expect it to success!

Thats bad also.
Tons of apps rides on Google's push services. Those apps's notifications will not work with huawei phones. Leading to subpar experiences.
