- heat suppression
Only advantage of 10iii is the fact it may score higher battery endurance.
I do not expect less than 115h when gsmarena tests.

For example, in Taiwan, 30% of phones sold in 2020 for at least $700 were Xperia. The number was 19% in 2019. Now Sony forecasts up to 10% more sales there in 2021.

I have bought the Xperia 1 II from ebay just 2 weeks ago. It is the dual SIM version made for Hongkong and I had to import it, as in Europe only the single SIM variant is sold. I love the phone and Sony quality, but I bought it now because the price dropped.
I don't know why Sony isn't selling more phones. I think their marketing is bad. Also, they don't cheat. Some other brands are being hyped in reviews no matter how their phones actually perform.
What I don't like about my phone is the fact that I can't use VoLTE as there is no support for my carrier, and Sony doesn't market their phones in my country anymore.
I think they have to be more aggressive in marketing. The phones are great, they should sell much better

Most people on GSM Arena are Sony and Xiaomi fans who bash on Apple, Samsung, and Google in the comment section. Don't get me wrong. I've bashed Apple for years.
I consider myself more of a PlayStation fan than Sony fan but I do like other products from Sony. They do love to milk that Spider-Man franchise. As for their Xperia improving? That's a surprise. I don't know a single person who ever owned an Xperia. I wouldn't bother owning one if I can't get it fixed at uBreakiFix.

They literally improved every little aspect of the phone.
The processor alone already covers 30% of the $100 price increase of the new model (I believe SD888 is about $30 more expensive than SD865 at launch prices). Imagine the cost for R&D to make the variable periscope camera, then there's the brighter and faster 4K HDR 120Hz OLED display. More RAM and newer Gorilla Glass Victus also contribute to the price increase, and yet somehow they still managed to keep the price increase low at just $100.

ae86, 28 Apr 2021Not sure but I thought Sony SFG tough was the fastest card? Nahh it wasn't, otherwise it would've already been a popular choice for various devices.
Admittedly, Samsung is really better in this field because Sony hasn't invested that much on developing their microSD cards in the past years, even though their CF Express Type B SD cards are some of the best for high-speed full-frame mirrorless cameras.

Xperia 1 is the ultimate top-tier flagship
Xperia 5 is the more traditional flagship
Xperia 10 is mid range
Mark (Roman Numeral) represents the generation of the phone in the series. 1 Mark II means the second generation, 1 Mark III means the third, 5 II means second, and so on.
This is similar to the naming schemes used in digital cameras. In particular, this is the same as Canon's 50D to 1D line of DSLRs.
50D is budget, 5D is somewhere in the mid range to high end, and 1D is the main flagship. The Mark (Roman Numeral) also indicates what generation the model is in the specific lineup.

Thus Pentax uses K1, K3 and is up to revision iii, Sony alpha 1 iii is the top of the Sony camera range and Xperia 1 iii is the current top of the phone range.
It's a good system and as Sony phones become more and more portable video recorders it makes sense.
