I have a terminal emulator that closes after being in the background for 15 seconds. It's to F-ing connect to servers and it can't stay open LOL.

Jasper5774, 22 Nov 2021It takes courage to compare realme with apple and Google... moreI have a Realme Q3 Pro. This is a China only release. Bloat - yes, ads - no. I haven't seen any ads outside of the normal Android experience, not even once. I was able to easily debloat it with ADB, but I'll admit most consumers wouldn't take this step. With all that being said, I still much prefer my 4a and 5a to the Q3 Pro even with the performance gap. Plain Android is the best and Google has a top tier camera experience even in mid-range phones.

My 4a and 5a have excellent battery life compared to other phones with similar specs. They're able to do this without aggressively closing out everything in the background the way Xiaomi and Realme are doing. The current phones I have for comparison are Pixel 5a and Realme Q3 Pro.

I have TWS, but I prefer wired when listening to music for sound quality. I do have dongles I bought for some phones, but IMO they're very much a hassle.

PixelFan, 22 Nov 2021Fantastic, another midranger drops the friggin' headph... moreIt's a pretty mixed bag for me. I used some headphone jack-less phones for over a year, but I'd obviously prefer to have it. For me personally it's a matter of sound quality. I've tried a lot of budget TWS earbuds. In terms of sound quality I like the Redmi Airdots 3 the most and in terms of features and battery I like the Honor Earbuds 2 Lite the most. Neither can adjust volume or skip tracks, tragic.

JoXim, 22 Nov 2021Yeah, hehe...More like 500 bucks. Almost bought the 5a, bu... moreI bought the 5a, but I wanted a compact phone myself. My previous primary phone was the 4a. I've gotten used to the 5a, but it's made easier by the fact that the a-series always feels like you don't have to accept any deal breakers. The size of the 5a is close for me, but it's just right on the edge of what I can tolerate.

Confirmation of this has pretty much killed any interest in any other device for me. This would be my 4th "Pixel a" phone and I've already moved on from the try as many high value phones as possible phase. The a-series is the only one that never disappoints.

This is one of the reasons why people will rather choose a budget android flagship or even a mid range android over the horribly overpriced iphone.

Anonymous, 22 Nov 2021I agree... S21 Ultra gives around 7hr battery backup on 4g,... moreThese are the shady things about the "so called best battery life on a flagship" iPhone 13 Pro Max that reviewers usually don't talk about.
It also takes 2hrs to fully charge that 4300mah battery which is so outdated.
My Realme GT Master Explorer Edition which costs 1/3rd the price, gets fully charged in half an hour.
Not to forget you have to carry around with a separate lightning cable everywhere with the iPhone.

Skar, 22 Nov 2021Actually, best compact phone right now is S10e, then 13 min... moreOriginal iPhone SE is the best to me and that's from 5.5 years ago. Feels better to hold than even the 12 mini and 13 mini. Prefer that slower Touch ID than any of Face ID. The next best is from 4 years ago. Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact. The Galaxy S10e would be next but it's as tall as the Essential Phone and Nokia 8 Sirocco.

While iPhone battery was dead withing 2hrs on 5g. Otherwise it gives around 8hr with my usage on 4g.
The did so much marketing last year about 5g phones, yet the actually battery life on 5g hasn't improved with the iPhone 13 series.

That's compact? Best size is the Pixel 4a and 5 or any non-XL from 1 through 3. The non-XL 4 is a tad too tall and heavy.
I'd get a Red Magic 6 at $600 over the regular Pixel 6.

I don't think the average user has paid more than 15-30$ on apps(total) and i am talking about paid apps, because in-app purchases are linked to an account thus 'transferrable' from one ecosystem to another. I had been using android for 11 years before switching to IOS 8 months ago, and i'm telling you had been missing a lot.
