I think the size is not 146.6mm coz the chin size same as Zenfone 8, maybe 148mm

hmm, 26 Jul 2022Yes the market for this phone is really tiny and it's ... moreWith you on this. I personally just want a phone that is more pocket friendly and easier to hold because if I'm just going to be glued on the screen, then I'd stay home and watch on a tablet or TV and play on PC.
The Android midrange market is oversaturated and there are many 6.5" and above midrangers that have great value for money while the only relatively compact phone I could find in this segment was the Xperia 10 (III) but that isn't available in as many regions, certainly not in my country. So when the Zenfone 8 went on sale last year (6 most after release) for midranger price at about $450 converted (8+128 configuration), I got it in a heartbeat even though I don't really need that much processing power as I simply didn't have any other option.
The upcoming Motorola Edge 30 lite has been rumored to come with SD 695 and a 6.28" screen same as Xiaomi 12x and even though it probably will have thicker bezels making it slightly bigger than the Xiaomi 12x, I will still be one of the smallest Android in the midrange segment, unless the rumor (https://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_edge_30_lite_leaked_image-news-54763.php) will turn out to be false.

I guess people who bought the Zenfone 8 like myself don't exist then. iPhone mini is significantly smaller while this is actually closer in dimensions to the vanilla iPhone/Galaxy S phones and people have always been buying those flagships so there's a big enough market for this size.

Only two years of updates is a non-starter. This is exactly what was wrong with the Zenfone 8, which was otherwise a nice phone.
Also, I really don't like those giant camera bumps. Ugly. And apparently they make the phone 1 cm thick. That's ridiculous. It's like turning the clock back a decade on phone design.

Even inferior to the real flagships of 2020. That is a fact. They have many cuts to keep retail price below $600. Surely the BoM is below $300.
Trading current SoC for old one is not gonna suddenly make the value of Bill of Materials reduce $150-200. Nor trading 8g1 for 778 or even 765.
SD865 was $81 in 2020, the 8+1g is $120 according to BoM of xiaomi 12s Ultra. Too low difference.
You get 2 y.o SoC just to save $40

There were numerous articles where average consumers were polled and they all thought the iphone mini was the "lower end" phone. Apple fans care about the image of the iphone as much as the features.
Me, I have an iphone 13 mini. I'd jump ship back to Android in a second if there was a proper compact phone. Sony abandoned us small phone enthusiasts a couple years back, unfortunately.

When market have only top end flagship for compact phones and there are only like either from apple or Asus then how you see that market dont want them ?
Market dont have budget to middle class hardware compact phone from 150 euro to 350 euro price range. Iphone SE should do pretty well and even that is over 400 euro and a lot of people dont want it cause it's locked garden where for every move you need to pay something

If there is other compact phones in the market other then Zenfone 8-9 or Iphone SE or mini ? All of them are high premium brand prices too and your talking like the premium brand high end phones are the largest part of the market and never mind that there are loads of brands that have high end phones

The Android Freak, 26 Jul 2022Galaxy S22 battery life suck.Even with battery sucks i would take Samsung over Asus any day of a week and it's cause Samsung have being in the phone market for 30 years or more and not like Asus that is known for branded for gaming hardware for desktop computers and started to make phones when the touchscreen got popular but cause of that background it does better with phones then some random Chinese brand like Leagoo or something just cause they have background with Pc hardware and known for it so they have more trust over some random brand that have being in smartphone market for the same time as Asus have being

People who mainly want compact phone is not to spend more time behind the screen. If that phone would have something middle class hardware like Sd7xx or even SD870 to get the price down to around 300-400 euro then the market would be a lot bigger. Also if they would make a lighter version for something like SD695 with only single camera and have the price around 180-250 euro range then the market be even bigger as even more people would want to have one.
I am in that bottom market price of up to 250 euro as i dont really understand the point to pay more for a phone and i want more compact that is more of my pocket friendly as the phone spends it's time more in my pocket then in my hand as it's still more of a communication device for me. I dont play games and i dont much use camera so i dont need best camera on the market and i dont need best hardware for gaming and i dont understand the need for best hardware when you dont play a lot with the phone.
I would use dumbphone but these are missing some things like cant read QR code and there camera is too low quality that makes no sense that they even have camera built in them. I have something 12mp camera in my 4 years old redmi note 5 pro and i am fine with it's picture quality when i do few shots a year. So for all my activities i do with a phone i dont really need the best hardware or camera but i still want to have something middle class hardware as even my SD636 with 3GB ram phone have got really slow after 4 years of use as for some reason the phone collects some data that makes the storage full and need to clean the phone time to time even tough dont have much on it at all. I even have a 8GB microsd card in it that is from very old phone and half full of music only

Gaming phones usually have better thermals than normal phones , and nobody really. Checks china exclusive phones in the west because there is no point for them , since nobody that watches / reads them will buy the device
