19 March 2015
A quality camera has always been a big part of Galaxy flagships and Samsung is pushing new improvements every six months. The two-step cadence goes Galaxy S then Note then S again – we're at the Galaxy S6 step of this cycle and...

Dododo, 20 Mar 2015I am not blind, so I can see narrow dynamic range: look at ... more"the tendency of the S5 and the Note
4 to blast out bright areas, while losing
    detail in dark ones."

And you wonder why people call you blind. How can you honestly think that the Note 4 lose detail in dark areas while the resolved details it has are only comparable with those of the S6? That's just hilarious.

Silly test. Not all benefits of the camera comes to the details in the cropped samples. I feel that S6 camera is a winner, because it is not oversharpened. Sony sensor does the job. And what about dynamic range and other tests??

AnonD-350822, 20 Mar 2015It was among the best when it came out. It was released in... moreThe Note 4 is better. It is better than S5 in low light, but not hands down in every situation. The Z3 still has advantages. The Zoom still has a lead. The 1020 and 808 obviously are better.
And the Panasonic C1 that came out last year is the best photo taking phone. Yes even better than the 1020 and 808.
I never said it wasn't good. Just not as close to the top as you want to believe.

Anonymous, 20 Mar 2015The 930 is not even the 5th best phone camera. It was among the best when it came out.
It was released in 2014 so obviously S6 camera will be better but its hands down better than S5 camera.

[deleted post]I pointed to the reason for my conclusion, which is the tendency of the S5 and the Note 4 to blast out bright areas, while losing detail in dark ones.

I also have had first hand experience with both the S5 and the iPhone 6+.

The Note fans here seem to offer no coherent argument to show why the Note images are better, other than "you are blind".

Spent your yearly allowance on the Note and now must defend it, eh?

O-, 20 Mar 2015this proves how samsung's ISOCELL sensor is really inferior... moreMeanwhile....You negate that the Note 4 has OIS and newer software versions too.
And the S6 has the wider F1.9 aperture.

So what does that have to do with the sensor?????? And if I'm not mistaking wasn't the Sony one newer too?

And don't realize that the Note 4 has the overall lead.
And even believes that the 1020 and 808 fall very short in overall picture quality.

In my opinion: Galaxy S5 is better than S6 and Note 4 (in light conditions) in terms of collor accuracy.
                    Galaxy S5 > Galaxy S6 > Galaxy Note 4 > iPhone 6

                    But in low light conditions...
                    Galaxy S6 > Galaxy Note 4 > Galaxy S5=iPhone 6

Because how else can you explain the wrong conclusion you get in a somewhat obvious results of the pictures being compared. IPhone 6 pictures are nowhere near the quality of the Note 4's. You definitely should get your eyes checked, immediately. Because fanboy or not, good eyes still can't lie can they? ;)

This is more a challenge to sony for the Z4, it's a bit embarrassing that other manufacturers can make your own sensor work better than you can, especially when sony has been making such great cameras for much longer than Samsung.
