Top 10 most popular reviews of 2019: Q1

Ivan, 25 December 2019

We already did the news section and now it's time to focus on the most popular reviews we did in 2019. These are the phones everybody was most eager to learn more about.

What a great tech year 2019 was. It seems that every brand made its phones better, while some, like OnePlus and Samsung, made more of them this year. Samsung significantly improved its midrange lineup and it shows, a number of our most popular reviews were of Samsung's Galaxy A line.

So let's look at the most popular reviews of the first three months of the year - January through March. This is where we tested the early flagships from the MWC as well as the second most popular phone of the year - the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7. This was the most popular review of the first quarter of 2019. We found that the Redmi Note 7 has awesome battery life and a good camera, but it missed 4K video support.

There is one more Xiaomi in this list and that's the Mi 9, the company's first Snapdragon 855 phone. It held up pretty well even by the end of 2019, listen to this - excellent battery life, 27W wired and 20W wireless charging, top-notch camera and flagship-level OLED display.

The third most popular review of Q1 was the Huawei P30 Pro. It came nearly a month after we reviewed the Galaxy S10 and S10+ and still managed to captivate more of your interest. In its review we observed great battery life, an excellent display and an unmatched 5x optical zoom camera. However the P30 Pro lacks stereo speakers, 4K@60fps video capture and an focusing selfie camera.

Our big camera comparison between the Huawei P30 Pro, Mate 20 Pro, the Samsung Galaxy S10+, the iPhone XS, Google Pixel 3 and Xiaomi Mi 9 is the fourth most read review of Q1.

In fifth, sixth and seventh are the Samsung Galaxy S10+, S10 and S10e, Samsung's hard-punching trio of flagships, which launched in March. In fact, our hands-on at the announcement is another hugely-popular review of Q1. In their reviews we found that the Galaxy S10+ and S10 have spectacular displays, superb cameras and solid battery life.

And in the final two spots we have a phone that hails from the previous year but we only managed to obtain in early 2019 - the Galaxy A9 (2018).

The final popular review article of Q1 is our hands-on with the Galaxy A50, A30 and the Tab S5e from their announcement event.

Stick around - we'll soon come to Q2.

"If Google didn't mess up the flagship launch" Asking the impossible here. It's been since 2016 that they find a new way to ruin everything.

Nah, 2019 has been stale. The cheaper flagships have been in prominence since 2014.

Well, except if Motorola RAZR sold in 2019, and Google didn't fricked themself in their flagship launch it will be different.
