Connected GPS - definition

Glossary

Connected GPS is a term that often relates to when one device is using the GPS hardware of another device.

Often used by some fitness trackers when tracking outside activities. For example, the Fitbit Charge 2 uses the GPS information from a connected smartphone.

Whilst this means that a smartphone has to be present, it does conserve the battery power of the fitness device.
